No longer works did for a week with Firefox 32 with this program now only blank screen. Uninstalled Sandboxie still black screen.

Please help! Student in need!!

injected a dll into a process and I got the error message 'Failed injecting the dll'.

Is it the dll that's the problem or the process?

I tried to use many different injectors;
-Winject
-PerX
-CE Injector
-x1ject

The DLL works for others.

(I use a mac with Windows 7)

Maybe it was a temporal problem. I can download SandboxieInstall-410.exe.

Tetranitro, I can answer some of your questions. The RC recognizes your license. And you can run the installer over the top. If you choose "Overwrite", your settings are maintained. So you know, I use many sandboxes in my XP and W7, all programs and files that I run sandboxed are running great under 4.10 RC.

Since I never keep anything installed in a sandbox for more than a few hours and have never upgraded SBIE while having a program installed in a sandbox, I can not tell you if "data within the sandboxes" is saved when you upgrade your Sandboxie, perhaps someone who keeps programs installed in sandbooxes can tell us how that goes.

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I'm considering upgrading to 4.10 RC. I've only ever installed stable final release versions before, though. Additionally, I am a legacy lifetime user, and I run multiple sandboxes, some of which retain data I don't wish to lose.

Will the RC recognize a legacy license? Do I need to take any additional steps beyond installing over the current installation? I don't wish to lose my sandbox settings, nor the data within the sandboxes.

Again, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question.

Oh, OK, but Windows doesn't update them, as I checked this before posting, and to be fair I never said you should copy them to the install folder.

When I said the files shouldn't be in System32, I meant not just copied there, and should be installed with the VC++ redist installers, as I'm aware that's where they go if it's used.

Anyway like I said, I'm no programmer, and I'm only remembering (more likely misremembering) something I read ages ago, and thought I could be helping.

Actually, it is the opposite. These files should be installed in the windows folder so that it can apply updates. If they are in the Sandboxie folder, Windows Update can't find them.

I've noticed the installer copies a few Visual C++ 2010 SP1 dlls to System32 if you don't already have them installed, but they're pre https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2565063 versions.

I'm no programmer, but from what I've read you're not supposed to just copy system files like that, as it can cause issues, like in this case Windows Update doesn't apply the security update.

@Binky: This will not give me any advantage compared to my current concept with forced folders. Plus it would break filetype / link association and automatic update functionality of Firefox.

Hi Bo,
"Force programs" will not allow me to chose a specific application by its full path. It will match every program that is named firefox.exe which is something I do not want. Besides from that, using this option (instead of forced folders) will also lead to the error I mentioned before ;)
