I can reproduce this problem on the 64-bit version of the browser after installing avast. I won't release an immediate fix for this, but I will include this in the list of stuff to address in the next beta version, which is hopefully in just a few short weeks.

I can however suggest an immediate workaround for this problem. I can resolve the problem by applying the Blocked File Access setting to prevent the avast DLL from loading into the sandbox. You say adding *\avast software\avast\* did not work, please try this instead:
*\avast\*snx*
This should also fix the problems with favorites.

As for the 32-bit browser I can't identify any specific performance issues. Perhaps you have some addons in your 32-bit browser that cause a performance hit under Sandboxie? I see avast installer includes the Google toolbar, did you install this toolbar and if so did you add compatibility settings in Sandboxie for the Google toolbar?
Statistics: Posted by tzuk — Sun Nov 18, 2012 9:00 am

Hi Tzuk,

Thanks for a speedy reply.

Followed your directions to the letter. Unfortunately, got the same error messages for IE 9 64-bit. Even with error messages, this version will load. But, if I try to link to a favorite, IE 9 freezes and I must close SB.

The 32-bit version only suffers from slower speed at startup. I had originally reported it to be extremely slow, but this is only true at startup. It seems to work about the right speed after loadup.

If you have any other suggestions, will be glad to try it.

Thanks again for your help.

Regards,

Don
Statistics: Posted by drp3636 — Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:09 pm
