Re: [REQUEST YOUR THOUGHTS]|Ransomware & SBIE
Haven't been here in a while, but saw this thread, so a few comments: I am using drop rights in my Sandboxes. I sandbox browsers, Tixati, pretty much anything that works directly on the internet. I have not done anything special for ransomware, but that is primarily because I don't have time to rese...

Is your https (secure) connection being sniffed?
Came across this article today which discusses problems with https and links you to grc.com where you can test to see if your https connections are secure or if there is a "man in the middle". This is the first I have read about this: http://blogs.computerworld.com/cybercrime-and-hacking/22050/steve...

I like the idea of a new icon - in the interest of making the project less time consuming I would suggest changing the tray icon to a standard 4 point diamond shape with the same yellow color in the middle, and dropping the pepperoni slices. Still very recognizable as Sandboxie I think, and still re...

The path rule D:\Sandbox\ restricts your SRP policy to that directory only. It does not allow writing to any subdirectories under D:\Sandbox\. I think the SRP path rule should be D:\Sandbox\*.* which should allow access to all files and subdirectories created by Sandboxie within the Sandbox. Try tes...

Just a guess here as I have not used SRWare Iron yet, but Firefox has an ability to "crosslink" or "snoop" on IE8 cookies. Perhaps SRWare does the same ( or maybe IE8 is doing it to SRWare) but try this in IE8 (unsandboxed): 1. Under internet options, security- choose custom level. Down near the bot...

there are two settings in IE8 you need to change: 1. Under internet options, security- choose custom level. Down near the bottom of the list of settings you will find a setting called "userdata persistence". Set to disabled. I believe this turns off flash cookies. 2. Now go to internet options, adva...

Interesting, I can almost smell that heat, it's all about the money? Well, looks like Matousec set the bait and I took it thinking this was something new. On the other hand, looks like a lot of people were not aware of this and many security apps will get updated. As far as it being all about the m...
