Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

Dear Forum Members (especially Curt & Craig - Sandboxie Support) After reading the latest postings, where more forum members have registered the same Firefox/Sandboxie problem, I decided to send Sandboxie Support a PML log file. However, my file is 519KB and it refuses to be sent via my email system...

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

Dear Forum Members The problems MDrew is facing and the solutions he has tried is exactly the same things I have tried also and with the same results, I have not updated anything, I've not made any configuration changes yet Firefox could be sandboxed last night but could not be this morning. However...

Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

Dear Forum members and experienced users I have the following problem which started this morning, I tried to open a sandboxed Firefox browser, as I have done many times before, by right-clicking my mouse on my Firefox desktop icon, I then click "Run Sandboxed" from the sub-menu, and then a sandboxed...

Re: SBIE 4.x + XP

Hi BTM

I use Sandboxie 4.02 with my XP Pro SP3 and, as far as I can see and experience, the two play very nicely together and just out of interest I also use Norton Internet Security 21.x.

Re: Dyre Malware may have way to beat Sandbox

Hi Curt & Buster Thanks for clarifying the "so-called" news article, as a person who uses sandboxie as part of my computer protection it is sometimes difficult to differentiate factual news from propaganda, especially as there is a constant arms race between criminals and the computer security indus...

Dyre Malware may have way to beat Sandbox

Dear Forum Members I came across this article about a malware especially designed to beat, or find their way around, popular unmentioned sandboxies:- http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/05/04/dyre_malware_sandbox_evasion/ Obviously, I do not know whether this article is accurate or just propaganda, ho...

Hi Guest 10 & bo.elam Thank you both for your solutions to my simple problem, no matter how long I have worked with computers I still find that there are answers to problems I would never have thought of. Despite the fact that I have quite a lot of knowledge and experience but even now, especially a...

Unable to startup/run a Sanboxed IE8.0

Dear Forum Members I am hoping that my problem is a small one and I am overlooking something obvious, first let me relay my software setup: 1) WinXP SP3 (Updated with the latest security updates) 2) Sandboxie Ver. 4.02 3) Internet Explorer Ver. 8.0 4) Opera Ver 11.64 (Default Browser) 5) Firefox Ver...

Another way to deal with the problem

Dear Forum Members Although what I am about to relate may or may not help with this problem it sure caused me an enormous headache. A few years ago, on a previous PC, one of my sons downloaded the Zlob virus (I think) onto my machine. This malware went on to do the following: Disabled my Norton AV. ...

Hi Guys Sorry I've taken so long to reply but I honestly thought that this thread was concluded, I only popped back to once again read the advice on offer. Falcon Thanks for your thoughts on the matter but if you had read my first post you would have seen that my son's hard disk has been totally enc...

Hi D1G1T@L Thanks for your reply, my son's friends are not "knowledgeable" about computers nor are they deliberately malicious, they just don't seem to have any boundaries when it comes to the Internet, i.e. unable to distinguish between safe and dangerous web-sites. Therefore, if my son is going to...

Can Sandboxie auto-start with Windows?

Hi Sandboxie Forum Experts This query is not really a problem but more a "problem" avoidance. First, the query. Can Sandboxie auto start/run when windows starts up and protect all browsers automatically on a PC? My son (or his friends) has destroyed two PCs, i.e. it is cheaper to replace them than t...

And Finally

Hi Guest10 I've just completed another night of using Sandboxie to see if it behaved out of the ordinary. I can now report, that with your help, I believe Sandboxie is doing and behaving exactly as it should. You see, I was extremely worried that Sandboxie, since the upgrade from 3.52 to 3.54 and th...

Hi Guest10

After reading your post I think I have a little more understanding of how Sandboxie is supposed to work and yes, "C:\Sandbox\ukbobboy\DefaultBox" does exist, again I have just re-checked this.

OK, that said, I'll still have to do a few more test.

Catch you later.
