Running W7 x64 with beta 4.01.08.
I occasionally get the message:
SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: *GUIPROXY_00000001 - chrome.exe [00000102]
It appears to result in a temporary unresponsiveness with the browser. It does not last long though.

If I recall, sandboxie blocks file sharing ports by default. Its under Sandbox Settings->applications-> Miscellaneous. You can turn off the port blocking there. I'm guessing that would solve your problem.. Thanks. Is your reasoning that ports 138,139 etc might be used by the Windows Indexing Servic...

4.01.08 - Can't run explorer in sandbox (W7 x64)
Running W7 x64 with beta 4.01.08. Trying to run explorer.exe and browse files seems to not be working. I get:
"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application"

I tried this as well, and it happens with the newest beta of 4.01.08 on Win7 x64. It would appear that this utility is merely running powercfg.exe. Using Process Monitor, I can see that svchost.exe is actually what sets the registry value for the Power scheme. Its not even powercfg.exe itself, which...

Is "Drop my rights" not needed anymore?
I've always run Sandboxie with drop my rights, but I'm wondering if this is sort of obsolete/pointless with the new v4?

OK, I think this is what happening: 1) The google update service runs. If a new version is found, the update starts 2) The google update service tries to update chrome.exe and old_chrome.exe, but IF chrome.exe is in use at the time of the update it delays this until the next time your run the progra...

Direct Access stops working for google chrome
Current Specs Sandboxie 3.56 64-bit Avira Personal Windows 7 64-bit I've had this problem on occasion throughout many versions of Sandboxie, different versions of Windows, and on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. It happens both with and without drop my rights. Seemingly without cause, Sandboxie will...

Re: Sandboxie and AppLocker
May I ask what you are trying to do with Applocker? If its related to the sandbox, maybe I can help. There isn't anything specific I'm wanting to do, I'm mainly interested in running any suspicious exe files I download via Sandboxie. If you want to block files that are in the sandbox from running, ...

Re: Sandboxie and AppLocker
I'm running version 3.56 of Sandboxie on Windows 7 Ultimate. I have setup AppLocker using the Executable Rules section and have generated the "Allows members of the Everyone group to run applications that are located in the Program Files folder" rule. When I right-click on a file and choose "Run Sa...
