Due to some severe software error I had to reformat. And return here to see how to resolve the "only stars icons in Bookmarks" issue again, as I didn't remember exactly how to. It has happened before after I got the above helpful answers that I had to return here for this. And I'm still grateful for...

I understand that one can make specific sandboxes for different programs. I've never done that yet, and don't really feel the need to. I returned to Adobe Reader as I am more familiar with it's workings and seems therefore easier to me. Besides that I have an Infix Pro license. (Which I'm not utiliz...

@bo.elam My default browser is Opera, but I have Firefox also. I don't know which plugin you are referring to. Nor how to let Foxit run without Internet connection, or what that means in this case. No problem though -as I said before- because I simply can copy the url of the pdf on my clipboard > cl...

@Blacky I don't see any Menu option you mentioned when downloading Adobe Reader XI (again), which I did here (un-sandboxed and un-checking the Chrome option): http://get.adobe.com/nl/reader/ The only choices offered -during install- are the update modes. I can download PDFs in Opera, Firefox, and IE...

Yes, those last instructions I could follow, and it worked. Thank you! Trying it out, instead of one of the little stars I now have a little sandbox there directing to this page... :D At first it didn't seem to work, but then I remembered the Sandboxie message saying that the change would not take e...

Thank you. I have to admit that due to my limited pc knowledge, I don't know how to find "C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\Opera\Opera\icons". I've tried by copy/pasting that -with my \(username)\- in the search bar in Start, but that doesn't work, nor if I let it do an advanced search in "Computer." I...

Opera Bookmarks Yes, But No Bookmark Icons (only stars)
Opera 12.11 Sandboxie 3.74 (64 bits) Windows 7 Home Premium Opera registers the bookmarks I make fine while sandboxed, but instead of the icons of the websites -which appear during the bookmarking- after closing the browser and having Sandboxie automatically delete its content, the icon is gone and ...

Solved; I can send the hard drive back, get a full refund, and keep the HP System Recovery DVDs for free said the very friendly lady at the HP help desk. (I told her it had nothing to do with my hard disk. Bootmrg is software, and its gets restored with the use of recovery DVDs. But still believing ...

Boot Manager and Backup Blues... ; )
Hi! Recently I got the message on my laptop that the Bootmrg was missing, ending up with a black screen with that text. I'm using an HP laptop, and called HP. They told me I needed a new Hard Drive, and format it with their System Recovery DVDs. The DVDs came yesterday and I used them on the Drive t...

I would react like this . Then: If on AC, immediately pull the plug out of my laptop. If on battery, immediately press down hardware "Off" button until system shuts down. Start in Safe Mode (no Networking). Scan with AV's. Remove email. Maybe use latest system backup from external hard drive ...

You're right about sandboxing not being 100 % safe. It doesn't protect against spying, unless one knows how to set it up in in such a way that the items one wants to protect from that are made immune to it. At least that is what I understand from reading about this on another thread. And if I rememb...

FLAME Virus
Hi! Reading about the latest most sophisticated virus ever detected so far -the "Flame" virus, also called “SkyWiper”, I wonder if such malware could be installed while one is running the browser and email client sandboxed. And if programs applying HIPS would detect it, and prevent it from installin...

Thank you. So far I have had Sandboxie set to always delete all content after closing the browser. Only allowing downloads I trust to be saved outside the sandbox when asked. But not to lose my email, I don't let Sandboxie delete that (if that could even been done, something I would not be intereste...
