Printing securely?
Hi If I allow the print spooler to do its thing under normal circumstances, can an infected file which I am trying to print contaminate my pc through the temp folder? Is it worth sandboxing the system temp and the user temp folders? I'm thinking of making the printing process as secure as possible. ...

Re: Does Sbxie download need dllhost.exe?
Thanks for replying bo.elam! What confuses me is when you said: "It is normal for dllhost.exe to attempt to run when you browse using File explorer to find the folder where you want a download to be downloaded to." I didn't browse, dllhost.exe just popped up of its own accord when I attempted the do...

Does Sbxie download need dllhost.exe?
Hi. I wanted to download the latest sandboxie (5.20) manually from the older versions page, but when I tried I got sbie 1308 "Program can't start due to restriction" and it mentioned dllhost.exe, which is obviously not allowed to run in the download folder. Why would a sandboxie download activate dl...

There's a thread on this here:

Basically Norton is playing up for some configurations with Firefox, and I uninstalled my Norton 360 22.5.4.24 on my Win 8.1 machine, and I now just use Defender and sandboxie because I need firefox.

Tried it. No joy.Curt@invincea wrote:In Norton, under Administrative Settings, disable both options under "Firefox Cleanup".
If I use Windows Firewall (8.1) + Defender + Sandboxie, would that seem like reasonable protection?

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore
I'm running a tablet with windows 8.1, with ffox 41.0.2, and Norton 360 22.5.4.24, and sboxie 5.05.2 and I can't open ffox in sboxie, so this isnt confined to 7 and below. I use the tablet for my high security stuff like banking, so I need ffox for NoScript. I currently face having to uninstall Nort...

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore
This is definitely a norton problem. I fired up my tablet today, with the new norton 360, after leaving it off for a week, and i went online with firefox no problem before it updated its stuff. I closed down the browser and tried to go back online after the norton update and I cant get on, except ma...

Hi. Is sandboxie safer with the drop rights box checked? If so, what are the disadvantages to using drop rights? Thanks.

Hi Bo.
So your only security software is Windows firewall and sandboxie? Have you ever had virus problems?

Re: No Sboxie Control Panel with 8.1
Thanks Bo!
Just one more thing: If I lose the control panel for some reason, can I delete the sandbox at C:\Sandbox\Username\sandboxname? Is that equivalent to a full delete in the control panel?
Thanks again.

Re: No Sboxie Control Panel with 8.1
Sorry Folks. False Alarm. I was using the wrong shortcut (SbieCtrl) instead of Sandboxie Control. The proper control shortcut went astray and I managed to track it down. All clear--almost.     Just one question still: The sandbox name and the # dont show up on the sand...
