As I said, it is probable that the files are extracted to a temp folder before being scanned, so, yes, I guess they are correctly scanned.

You should not need to extract any file to scan an archive. Just scan the archive file itself. Maybe avast reports 3 files as it has scanned the archive itself and the two files in the archive. Thanks, but my addon doesn't help to protect your computer. It's the job of Sandboxie. SandboxToys helps to launch sandboxed programs and to maintain your sandboxes. Nothing else.
