Re: Disk thrashing in catroot while running Chrome
Sure, I am going to update to 5.18. Note this issue happens rarely so I don't expect to encounter it for a long time.

Re: Disk thrashing in catroot while running Chrome
Sorry, I forgot that information. I'm using Sandboxie 5.17.1 in Windows 8.1 x64. No antivirus other than Windows Defender. I had just opened Chrome 57.0.2987.133 64-bit and I was going to order a pizza, so I went to dominos.com and there is an option pickup or delivery and I chose pickup and then th...

Disk thrashing in catroot while running Chrome
I have noticed rarely my laptop running Windows 8.1 and Sandboxie and Chrome will sometimes have large disk thrashing so constant it slows the computer to be unusable. I've checked in performance monitor and I can see it is a ton of files with the name catroot in the path that are being read when Ch...

Re: Any workaround for lingering Chrome process in 5.16?
The sandboxes are delete-on-exit and they aren't deleting, so I am looking for a workaround. A good workaround for the situation when sandboxes dont delete automatically even when set to do so, in my opinion if this happens constantly, is to get used to deleting manually the sandboxes where you run...

Re: Any workaround for lingering Chrome process in 5.16?
The lingering chrome.exe shouldn't be a problem. If they don't know how to use SbieCtrl, they shouldn't even know the chrome.exe is lingering. No one even reported the problem in the forum -- it is something I noticed after a Chrome update. Am I missing something? It is something I noticed as well....

Re: Any workaround for lingering Chrome process in 5.16?
Thanks Barb but I'm looking for some automated way it can be done, since family members that don't know or understand Sandboxie are using those computers.Barb@Invincea wrote:You can try right-clicking on the Sandbox "terminate all programs", see if that helps.

Any workaround for lingering Chrome process in 5.16? [SLVD]
I recently upgraded Chrome and now there's a lingering chrome.exe in the Sandbox. I have looked at the beta forum and apparently this problem is addressed in 5.17 beta. At the moment I have computers I can't upgrade to 5.17 so I am wondering if there is a way I can workaround the issue in 5.16. Than...

Re: Anyone seeing weird GUI PROXY notice with Chrome?
cornflake, I used to get sometimes while running KMPlayer the Sandboxie message 2203 GUIPROXY in my XP. After closing the message, the player continued to work fine. So, after a while I hid the message and never had a problem. You can try hiding the message for Chrome and see how it goes. Thank you...

Re: Anyone seeing weird GUI PROXY notice with Chrome?
Do you have any AV or Toolbars installed? If so, try disabling them for testing purposes (and/or add SBIE executables to the AV exclusion list). I'll check about the AV. I think MalwareBytes anti-malware may be installed, but that's it. Here is the log, it all happened within a minute: SBIE2203 Fai...

Re: Anyone seeing weird GUI PROXY notice with Chrome?
Sometimes on this computer we see weird messages from Chrome, a lot of 'bits' can't be started....The bits notices have been an annoyance for some time... You can eliminate the bits messages by disabling Drop rights in Sandbox settings. Thanks but the account is an admin account so I'd rather just ...

Anyone seeing weird GUI PROXY notice with Chrome?
Windows 8.1 x64 Sandboxie 5.16 Chrome 55.0.2883.87 m Sometimes on this computer we see weird messages from Chrome, a lot of 'bits' can't be started and occasional GUI PROXY messages and other messages. Today there was a slew of GUI proxy messages, and Sandboxie Control was blinking. When I started i...

Chrome 52.0.2743.82 x86 not working [SOLVED]
A few days ago I upgraded Chrome using the offline installer as I normally do and now I see a gray box whenever I start Chrome in Sandboxie. I tried a clean sandbox but it made no difference. I'm using SBIE 5.10 and Windows 7 x64. Has anyone else tried upgrading Chrome? The previous version worked f...

Send To pref problem
I upgraded to 5.10 in Windows 7 x64. I have had this 'Send To' problem when I have upgraded, I'm not sure how often. I found a post of mine that I had it in 5.05 beta and I reported it there. This is the problem: Despite having the 'Send To' menu unchecked in 'Windows Shell Integration' when I insta...

Re: Installing Browsers Directly Into SBIE [Updated 2/10]
Wow. You're welcome? I guess. Of course I know the long standing position to update outside of the browser, I just thought there must be a better way. I lose time doing the manual updates. When someone tries to start Chrome and sees a hanging page it's not a good experience.Craig@Invincea wrote:Thanks for the concern.
