Re: Firefox 56/57 sound not working when sandboxed
I have FF 57.0 and Win 7 Home Premium. I had sound on YouTube outside SB,but not inside. I am writing this to advise the following worked for me ( which I found somewhere on this forum): Open Firefox outside Sandboxie type about:config and accept the risk search sandbox Switch security.sandbox.conte...

Re: missing [x] sign
Yeah,I checked that our from the start, but it doesn't work. okay, now if you use separate sandboxes and one of them is dedicated to Firefox you might try deleting contents. If not then try "Remove Sandbox" and re-create it (remember you will need to set it up again because all settings will be gone...

Re: missing [x] sign
I have Win 7 Home Premium 64bit and Firefox 36.0.1 Lately,I cannot get Sandboxie to display a red border around the browser, although I have managed to get a " # " showing around the title bar,so I know Sandboxie is running.I have three other browsers on my desktop, and when I launch them sandboxed,th...

Do I need a firewall program using Sandboxie?
I get McAfee AV free from my ISP,but last Monday,I rebooted the computer after a major McAfee upgrade was downloaded, and my PC would not boot into Windows . To make a long story short,a techie from the ISP took remote control of my PC,and tried to fix the problem, but couldn't do it ( he made some no...

Firefox 15.0.1 running slowly sandboxed
I have win 7 Home Premium,64 bit,and lately,Firefox loads very slowly, taking up to a minute to appear. Some FF extensions, especially Webmail Notifier (http://webmailnotifier.mozdev.org/),also take almost a full minute to react and open when I click on the interface.I have SB 3.72 (64 bit). If I run F...

Flexbar Sandboxie Compatibility
I have SB 3.5.4 running on a 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium installation.I recently upgraded to Firefox 5 Beta because of an intermittent problem with my printer, which was cured by Firefox 5. The problem is,a lot of my add-ons are not compatible with FF 5,and to replace one of them,All In One Sidebar...

Thanks, guys.I was looking at that Start/Run whitelist feature, and whether it was what to use to prevent cmd.exe from running.I am not a techie,so what I would do is list all the programs that are white listed in this box, such as my browser, email client, etc, and that would prevent things like cmd.exe ...

@Newbeak, I read your post and don't consider it "accusatory" as a previous poster alleges. Seems to me you are simply stating the facts as you understand them, namely, you have two computers, one with Windows 7 and the other with XP, and the Windows 7 system got infected. Now, you're asking for ad...

Stopping "cmd.exe" from running sandboxed
I found a website where a poster suggested that Sandboxie users edit Sandboxie to prevent "cmd.exe" from running, but didn't spell out how to do it. Is this a good thing to do? Here is the link to the page I found it on ( bottom of comment #16) :http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=206173 I a...

New Acer desktop in shop for virus removal
I have a new 64bit desktop running Win7,and last Saturday I couldn't access the internet when I booted it.I was on the phone with my ISP for 45 minutes, and all they could tell me was that they could ping my system, but my system couldn't ping back.It is now in the shop, and they told me today they hav...

Two steps to run application sandboxed
I believe this has been discussed elsewhere, but I couldn't find it. I don't have Sandboxie set to force my browser to run sandboxed, and when I launch the browser,I right click and select "run sandboxed".This results in a new box popping up asking which folder to open it in. I find this to be an anno...

Thunderbird 3.1.2 won't run sandboxed
This concerns Sandboxie ver 3.42 running on Vista Home Basic on a 32 bit system.I recently installed TB version 3.1.2,and found that it would not run Sandboxed.I got an MS pop-up window informing me that the program had stopped working. However,it ran fine outside the Sandbox. I was about to report t...

Company vulnerability via social networking sites
I just read an interesting article on Physorg.com (http://www.physorg.com/news187688322.html). It occurred to me that if companies ran their PCs with Sandboxie installed,key-logging software would not be such a problem. I guess what is needed is an idiot-proof version of Sandboxie for use by corpora...
