Actually seems to happen maybe a couple of times a week so not terribly frequently. Yes, I can disable Prevx for a while and see how long it doesn't happen for - (I hate the "negative" testing method.... :) )

For me yes, whenever I happen to see the process in the sandbox, I check with Process Explorer and it's always an instance of Google Chrome.

The only other security-related software I use is MSE (v 2.0.657.0) and Prevx (v 3.0.5.220)

"Unknown Executable Image"

I seems to get these lingering processes every day. I believe it is an instance of Chrome after checking Process Explorer. The process cannot be terminated either through SBIE nor through Process Explorer, which always reports that "the handle is invalid". Only a complete reboot will kill the offend...

OK, here's what I am seeing in these exact steps - 1. With Firefox sandboxed, no issues getting site to come up after supplying windows authentication credentials. (Site is IIS using a specific port) 2. With IE sandboxed, I get a few error dialogs about not being able to change the account password ...

Well, I will try that (creation of the new sandbox). As far as IE8, seems to work on other machines here, and on this one in particular in safe mode, so will also try to do some sleuthing to see what is conflicting. Thought it was SBIE for a while, though when run under SBIE I do get an error about ...

Problem entering credentials in IE8

When hitting a site requiring windows authentication, I keep getting the message 2x:

SBIE 1309: Denied attempt to change account password.

IE then of course does not bring up the page...

Not sure what settings I need to adjust to make this work, and stick?

Thanks,
Mark.

Ronen,

Agreed - That's the most plausible and reasonable explanation, as it seems to work perfectly as expected now.

Thanks for your help.

Best,
Mark.

If Firefox is running sandboxed, the "parent.lock" file will be created in the sandbox, in a Firefox profile folder.

Problem under Win7 upgrade, not under new install

When starting up either browser (FF/IE) under a new Win7 install under vmware, no issues. When starting up either browser (FF/IE) under an upgrade of Vista Ultimate to Win7 where SBIE is already installed and working under Vista: 1. Whenever FF is started I get a message it's already running in the ...

I wish that was it - I actually have "keep until they expire" which seems to be their most persistent option of the 3....

Thanks though!
