Re: Why change Sandbox Level 4 to 3/2/1/0
So umm...not what I expected to read at all...! Did you actually just claim that no one there (on your end) can make heads or tails of why an open source browser runs into issues inside Sandboxie when in relation to various, increased, internal "Firefox Sandbox Levels" (and how suddenly using rule c...

Re: Sandboxie needs an "Auto-Sandbox" feature
Call me silly [yet again] but I rather like the idea of this being a feature which people can 'enable' if desired . The logic behind this request might initially seem to be antithesis of Sandboxie yet at the same time - having a hard-coded option to force everything except (this directory or that ou...

Re: Limit Access to system fonts
If you are using a persistent box, eg one that doesn't auto-delete, this would be easier to pull off. In such a case you can add any registry entries or files to the sandbox. The sandboxed entries are ALWAYS checked first. As such, if the reg entries or files already exist inside these will be used....

Re: lingering software_reporter_tool.exe processes from chrome
I don't even allow SRT exes to have run access in any of my chrome boxes. It's literally what the name implies in that it attempts to detect and aid in 'reporting' (sharing a list of) the software you have installed on the system. It's also supposedly involved in some cleanup stages of chrome as rel...

Re: Why change Sandbox Level 4 to 3/2/1/0
I may not be a "very stable genius" but I do have a strange desire to second this request of info and hope for a few specifics on how/why internal changes like these can suddenly allow a SBIE protected instance to work without as many issues if inter-box processes are not being denied things to begi...

Re: Will Sandboxie Still Work with the Windows Kernel Overhaul?
Can somebody explain this? For example, some malicious process started in SB and via Meltdown exploit read my memory. If I terminate all process in this sandbox is I'm safe from this moment? can some processes exist only in memory after killing all processes in sandbox or i need restart pc? While n...

Re: Sandbox escape by Specter and Meltdown?
Despite my best efforts in the past (yes I'm looking at you, Curt & fam) SBIE has never attempted to include preventing memory reads into its protections so far. As such, there is literally not a single routine (I'm aware of) that attempts (via SBIE) to block memreads at any point! Even if there had...

Re: Can I set full file access to drive C: - except the system dirs
I really would NOT recommend doing it but in my test with notepad and trying to save files in various folders these seem to be what you want. OpenPipePath=C:\ ReadFilePath=C:\Boot ReadFilePath=C:\Program Files ReadFilePath=C:\Windows That still doesn't cover other sandbox folders either if the conta...

Re: Acronis True Image 2018 vs Sb5.20
Nothing that requires and installs drivers or services will be able to install or function solely inside a sandbox. True Image requires quite a few drivers. I'd suggest you use a full VM to test it with instead.

Re: www.sandboxie.com
Sandboxie prevents internet websites and programs from modifying your personal data (i.e. My Documents), files & folders on your system Those minor changes would certainly satisfy me on that one! Oddly enough it would also sound a tad hollow that way. As if it could still be expanded upon to descri...

It has been a while since I really visited and/or read every line of the home page. Normally, it's just to hit Click here to download it for release versions... I must say that after doing a bit of reading anyway while sipping my beer(s) tonight I see room for a couple of much needed improvements. D...

Re: Installing EqualizerAPO in Sandboxie?
Yes and No. Yes, it can install just fine in the sandbox. No, I don't think it would function as expected. It might be possible to poke enough holes and alter stuff manually via regedit or other tricks but seeing how the software is designed to be a system-wide thing, I suspect it'd be pointless to ...

Re: New sandbox pulls in tabs from non sandboxed browser
By saying clean , I think what you want is to block access to the outside location and create a new profile that exists only in the sandbox? If that's accurate you can go to Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > File Access > Write-Only Access > Edit/Add and insert the path to the profile chrome curr...
