Re: Praise for SBIE's continued support for XP.
I haven't (yet) upgraded from the last stable release on my XP system but I join in thanking the Invincea team for keeping the good going for XP. While my uses for that machine are somewhat limited these days, it's good to know it's still covered by the best single piece of security software out the...

Re: Webroot SecureAnywhere
Why would you buy MBAM Pro if you only use it on demand? I have owned MBAM Pro for several years. I no longer feel it is necessary with my current setup. In fact, I haven't run it in quite some time now, (though I have the definitions updated in the background). My preference is to keep things as s...

Re: Webroot SecureAnywhere
No one on the forum uses Webroot? Well, that also tells something. But if someone does, please drop a few lines regarding your point of view on it (and also Webroot VS Sandboxie). Thank you. I use Webroot's antivirus on my XP rig alongside Sandboxie and Online Armor. I find that the three work toge...

Re: looking for a reason to update from 4.08
Bo, thanks but the thread is about reasons to update from 4.08. I've had 4.08 installed since it came out but have not updated since. Sorry Blues, I don't know why I thought you were still using 3.76. Anyway, I think those changes in beta 4.09.5 make it kind of worthwhile for you to upgrade. Greeti...

Re: looking for a reason to update from 4.08
Bo, thanks but the thread is about reasons to update from 4.08. I've had 4.08 installed since it came out but have not updated since. As I'm using a Chromebook for the vast majority of my online activity the last couple of months, I probably won't update unless I can think of a compelling reason to ...

Re: looking for a reason to update from 4.08
I've held off as well (thus far) on my infrequently used XP system.teg wrote:Quite happy with v.4.08 (Vista, Win7, Win8.1)--- any specific security advances to be had with 4.10 or 4.12?

@bobbym Clearly the issue is not as simple as merely running XP or Online Armor on one's system as many of us, myself included, are successfully running FF27 with these apps or operating systems. Just as clear seems to be that the issue is not confined to users of Avast! (for which I have no firstha...

I haven't noticed svchost.exe behaving differently after upgrading to Firefox 27. Do a test: reboot your XP and after rebooting, don't run sandboxed any program but Firefox. I am pretty sure you will only see two instances of SbieSvc in task manager after closing Firefox. I am not on my XP but if y...

Hi Blues. So you know. I also see wmiprvse.exe running when I run the new Firefox (sandboxed or unsandboxed). A few minutes after I close Firefox, wmiprvse.exe closes itself. I guess that's normal now. The behavior for wmiprvse.exe is different in W7, as in the past, its always running. About SbieS...

Just did a quick experiment... As mentioned previously, FF 27.0 does run sandboxed on my XP Pro SP3 setup (32 bit) and the only changes I've noticed in Task Manager since its install is that now wmiprvse.exe runs whenever FF is started (sandboxed)...and an additional instance of SbieSvc.exe runs as ...

In addition to updating FF yesterday, I also updated the Flash plug-in. So as a test, I uninstalled the Flash plugin, but that made no difference. In other words, I have ruled-out the new Flash plug-in as being responsible for the problems we're having. Likewise, FF changed the default TLS settings...

While my new installation of Firefox is working with XP, the only thing I have noticed via task manager that appears different is that wmiprvse.exe is now running each time Firefox is started and it seems one new instance of SbieSvc.exe may also be running as well. Don't know that will be helpful to...
