Program Exclusion From Sandboxing

I am running Sandboxie 5.22 x64 on a Windows Server 2008 R2. There is an Eaton 5S UPS attached via USB which is monitored by Eaton's Intelligent Power Protector (IPP). When I ran IPP today, I noticed that there was no communication between the UPS and IPP. After checking the hardware end and finding...

Re: Running IE11 With Shortcuts in Windows 7

Barb:

So where does that leave things? Will this behavior be prioritized for investigation and resolution?

Regards,

Peter

Re: Running IE11 With Shortcuts in Windows 7

Hi Barb: Your reply was puzzling. EMET does load as an Automatic (Delayed) service by default so it will not show up in the Windows Task Bar right away. So, yes I do see this behavior but I am not using an IE shortcut until well after EMET is running. However, I did some further research based on yo...

Re: Running IE11 With Shortcuts in Windows 7

Barb: I tried Fire fox and it does run from a shortcut and it will access my hardware log-ins. In EMET, all are selected for IExplore.exe except EAF+ (Export Address Access Filtering Plus) and ASR. I tried all settings disabled and IE works. I tried it without just EAF (not EAF+) and all other setti...

Re: Running IE11 With Shortcuts in Windows 7

Barb: Sorry for the delayed reply. Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) 4.10.209.0 and Microsoft EMET 5.52 on both machines. This same behavior can also be seen on my Windows 2008 R2 server with only Windows Defender and EMET 5.52. I tried disabling both MSE and EMET on the desktop with the same resu...

Re: Running IE11 With Shortcuts in Windows 7

I tried versions 5.19 and 5.20 with the same results. My laptop with W7 x6 Ultimate does have the same problem. It turns out that Firefox and IE were not being sandboxed. I have to reinstall to fix that. So as it stands, any attempt to run IE from a link or shortcut causes it to not load properly wi...

Re: Running IE11 With Shortcuts in Windows 7

Does the issue happen in a new Sandbox?
Yes.
How about if you create a new shortcut to another site, are you still getting the same problem?
Yes.
I just got the beta. I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks,

Peter

Re: Running IE11 With Shortcuts in Windows 7

Update to my last post: I tried this on my laptop with a similar set up and configuration and it works properly. Go figure. One difference between them is that the desktop where I am having the problem is W7 x64 Pro, the laptop is W7 x64 Ultimate, both SP1 and the same updates as far as I know. Peter

Running IE11 With Shortcuts in Windows 7 + EMET

I am using IE 11 .0.9600.18638 under Windows 7 x64 SP1 with all updates up to April 2017 applied with Sandboxie 5.18 64-bit (registered). I have Microsoft Security Essentials 4.10.209.0 and Microsoft EMET 5.52 also installed and running. If I start IE11 sandboxed, it will start and run fine. However...
