Re: Does regular use of Sandboxie threaten your hard drive?

So, my question is pretty simple: can regular and frequent use of Sandboxie, for things like web-browsing and using chatting programs, both on a daily basis, place unnecessary stress and wear on your hard drive? Be well, and stay safe! Where talking about HDD's, it very unlikely even when your sand...

Re: Is it okay to use Sandboxie for regular internet-browsin

@FlagJackGuy

1) Technician probably don't know Sandboxie that well;
2) Only potential problem is compatibility issues http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 39#p111707; and
3) In regards with internet browsing and additional layer of protection, SBIE is the best

Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01.10)

5.01.10 has been released (officially) and fixes a whole bunch of things. I think we are looking good for a final release of 5.02 next week. There's still the minor issue of SBIE(beta) not properly installed thus requiring me to do a reinstall, or is that because I'm using the 32/64 bit installer. ...

Re: Where do I install it to?

Athertle, you can also change sandbox directory if you prefer to install program on a different drive by Sandbox Control>Sandbox>Set container folder (ex: D:\, F:\,..), and of course this works best if its a registered version as having separate sandbox means you can also have separate sandbox direc...

Potplayer: this is what you get when sandboxed (standard/typical installation), plays fine outside d sandbox.

Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01.8)

SBIE 5.01.8 x64 / Win7 x64 "VLC run sandboxed no audio/video..." I have nearly the same problem - all audio files: no sound, in my case video seams to work, but all without sound. All is ok outside the sandbox. As for the sound issue. Testing Win 8.1/64 with SBIE v5.01.9 Win 10 " " VLC, MPC-HC (sta...

Ok, thanks. What sound device are you using? And which output (analog, digital, HDMI)?
Can you run dxdiag and post the details in the forum here? It should already be installed on your system.

Please start VLC sandboxed, open the messages window (Tools > Messages), play a video file and then post the messages. Maybe some error messages can give the developers a hint.
Tested it as per instruction but unfortunately there were no messages...

Alright. I'll see if I can break it tomorrow. In testing we saw no issues. Of course, that's a clean Win install w/ the basics.
Forgot to mention the codec issue with regards to Potplayer, it works fine outside the sandbox.
