Re: Please fix Chrome process cancelations due to QWAVEdrv [SOLVED]

There are two entries for qwave, the service: QWAVE and the driver: QWAVEdrv My suggestion was based on the template but I hadn't tested it myself so thanks for reporting on the service starting anyway Barb. A workaround which seems to do the trick via [GlobalSettings] is to instead use: ClosedFileP...

Re: Sandboxie can't see file in stick

I need still right click and start sandboxie see my unziped file. It sounds like s/he unzipped files to the 'flash drive' while sandboxed so they only exist in the sandbox copy. everything should run with sandboxie on this stick but file explorer not does It sounds like s/he wants an un-sandboxed e...

SbieSvc Cleanup

Related to the Lingering SbieSvc thread I had going. Might it be possible for SbieCtrl or some other component to check for a related SbieSvc.exe (eg by boxname) in the wait state and send a terminate command when the related box is empty or in the closing/deleting phase? These lingering instances h...

Re: Running SbieCtrl as a different Windows user

SBIECtrl should be able to see and manage all boxes if ran under the current user with exceptions being those set up explicitly to be applied to specific user names under Enabled= By intentionally running it as a standard user from an admin account you are preventing it from being able to access and...

Re: Vulnerability Reporting - Sandboxie Installer DLL Hijacking Vulnerbility

OK so upon further testing I was able to reproduce my results using OLDER installers, eg I had a beta from 5.07 where I could see the reported behavior (so I'm thinking I used that one the morning I said I was able to repro). However using the current 5.20 release or 5.21.2 beta installer I can NOT ...

Re: Vulnerability Reporting - Sandboxie Installer DLL Hijacking Vulnerbility

Sadly I may have to retract that. I got up to check it yesterday morning, before I had to go, so I wasn't very thorough. What happened was I did see activity in procmon where the installer would read and did a Load image on the local temp copy instead but did not check with procexp to see if ended u...

Re: Vulnerability Reporting - Sandboxie Installer DLL Hijacking Vulnerbility

lol, I wasn't moving the installer into the temp directory but I can reproduce it now. I could see this being an issue while using the internal update function. Thanks and sorry I was so daft while trying to reproduce!

Re: Vulnerability Reporting - Sandboxie Installer DLL Hijacking Vulnerbility

While not a member of the support team I'd like to thank you for the PML. I'll try to take another look tomorrow, while sober, since at first glance it appears you were using a SBIE x64 5.20 installer but in my VM test just now on a Windows 7 x64 VM I was still unable to reproduce. In my latest atte...

Re: Vulnerability Reporting - Sandboxie Installer DLL Hijacking Vulnerbility

I was unable to locate such an installer tho my 'personal backup' directory of SBIE installers isn't exactly filled to the brim. The noted name itself seems similar but also quite wrong. If taken a certain way it looks like it might be a beta that isn't available but regardless I was not able to rep...

Re: copy and paste not working using firefox browser

I'm assuming you mean the firefox instances w/o the icon which could mean it's related to not using the newer e10/multiprocess stuff perhaps? I've used it both ways on my end and had no issues with copy and paste, in the past, however. =( The other 'Sandboxie*.exe' ones are all Sandboxies... As a te...

Re: different settings for different user accounts?

How can I set different forced programs for a different Windows user account? https://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?Enabled I believe you'll have to edit the ini manually. Basically you find the box you want to limit to specific accounts then go to its Enabled=y line then add a comma and a user name....

Re: Is there a way to write the folder name (or other names) as a regular expression

Generically speaking, no. While it is possible to isolate areas and only allow 'certain' things to see or interact with them - there is nothing atm, to my knowledge, which works exactly as you desire. I could easily use that scenario myself but sadly it is not how things are in the cards, atm. The w...

Re: SBIE2224 w/Chrome, Win 7 64-bit...Says program crashed, but program hasn't crashed.

I didn't know that the reporter tool is only one component of Sandboxie and nonessential. I will do this as a workaround if I can't find an actual fix for the issue. It's actually a part of chrome , not sandboxie. I did test this myself and for some reason the original string as I posted didn't qui...

Re: Downloaded Programs Not being Sandboxed v5.20

I'm not all that familiar with IDM though I've heard of it and know it's popular for some strange reason... (I just use the DownloadThemAll addon myself) I gave it a quick go in a Win7 x64 VM and *think* to get the behavior you desire you'd want to add IDMan.exe as a forced program [I'd give it a se...

Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 7/14/17]

I have the same BitDefender as you, and same problem. I inserted this line at the end of Global Settings, and now there is no conflict while running with BTS 2018, no error messages appear. I am assuming this is correct, and will not compromise my PC or Browser security? It will not compromise your...
