Re: [5.23.5] Visual Studio 2017 fail to start in sandbox
The reason I want to do this is because VS2017 has so many components and a lot of them runs in the background even if I'm not using it. Surely I can run it in a VM but that would create too much overhead (addition hard drive space for another Windows installation, addition RAM for Windows running i...

[5.23.5] Language Bar setting in sandbox affects real OS (Windows 7)
I'm trying to install an IME into a sandbox to try it out without success - I'm still interested in if it can be achieved but that's not what I'm trying to ask here right now. During this process, I found that if I change the Language Bar setting inside the sandbox, it would affect my real OS. Open ...

Re: Forced folder bug
Hello everyone, it seems I've found some sort of workaround for this issue.
- Open the "Properties" window of the program executable (.exe) file.
- Try run the program again.

Re: Parent-Child Sandboxes
Not trying to be rude but let me repeat myself: There's no perfect workaround unless you're willing to create a full duplicate. And I've already explained the reason: from their (programs running in sandbox) point of view, they are not running from their installation directory . From your experience...

Re: Parent-Child Sandboxes
@RooJ I have tried something like that before, it doesn't really work well and that's why I'm making this feature request. This kind of workarounds have problems: Registry files are not so large - so not really a problem. User data folder could be large depends on the software you use and the way it...

Parent-Child Sandboxes
Use case: Create a Parent Sandbox Sandbox-Parent and install a Web Browser inside it. Once the installation is finalized, in most cases the Parent Sandbox container should be made READ ONLY (but don't force it). Create child sandbox Sandbox-Child1 with Sandbox-Parent as its parent. When reading file...

Re: Can't load external font even with OpenPipePath
Hi Barb, I've confirmed that copying the .ttf files inside my steam Sandbox's C:\Windows\Fonts does lead to font renders correctly in-game, so the workaround does fixes this specific problem. However, there could be problems. For example: In ONE Sandbox, if an application loads "font.ttf", and anoth...

Re: Can't load external font even with OpenPipePath
I'm running Sandboxie 6.20 on Windows 7 SP1 x64. Copying the .ttf to C:\Windows\Fonts isn't really an option as the other user described , there could be fonts with conflict file names. Here's my Sandboxie settings for "Steam" sandbox if you care: [APP_Steam] Enabled=y ConfigLevel=7 BlockNetworkFile...

Can't load external font even with OpenPipePath
I've noticed that when running some programs (mostly games) that loads external font, the font won't load. For example, I was just playing Portal: Still Alive (a community made Portal mod released today) and found some in-game font is missing, like the cross-hair shows as a upper case letter "Q". I'...

Re: NScripter games crashes when running in Sandbox
I'm running Sandboxie 5.20 on Windows 7 SP1 x64 . I'm not running any AntiVirus Product. Which game doesn't matter, at least every single NScripter game I have (I can't provide them though as they're not free, but I'm sure you can find some free/demo game made with Nscripter online) would crash at s...

NScripter games crashes when running in Sandbox
Games made with Nscripter engine (http://www.nscripter.com/) would crash when running in sandbox. They don't crash right at the beginning, but crashes when performing some action like save/load game. I can not provide the game itself but I have one of the crash dump attached. I've tested more than o...

Re: Forced Folder causes some application to crash
I don't know if this helps, but I managed to reproduce this behavior and found a workaround. If the program is created in the forced folder (eg: extracted from archive) the program can not run by double-click (can via right-click menu) But if I unmount and re-mount the drive (the entire drive is set...
