Just a followup on this issue..... The reason things weren't working was because v2.8 of the WavPack plug-in has C++ code in it and I didn't have the C++ libraries on my system. Hmmm, that's interesting, I honestly don't know what to say. I know Winamp plays .wv files as I have thousands of them. Maybe I used an older version of Winamp and only thought I used v.5.581. I'll look into this further. Thanks for your help.

Tzuk, I signed up on MegaUpload and put a WavPack file there. It's just the short Windows "tada!" wav sound compressed in WavPack format.
