Re: Problems with SB in Firefox 50 with Emoji fonts

I see. I can hide the message SBIE 2205 without security risk.

Thanks for the clarification.

Re: Problems with SB in Firefox 50 with Emoji fonts

The same problem here. Just a question to the staff of Sandboxie: Is there a chance that Sandboxie can (respectively intends to) fix this problem? It' s good to know that it helps to delete the font but surely it is not the ideal solution to remove a file that obviously is (now) a regular part of Fi...

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

Ah, yes, I see. Thanks, Bo. So there are three methods now. The one suggested by you is obviously the easiest.

It seems that disabling the protected mode in just one of the three places (via Firefox tools or via about:config or via mms.cfg file is sufficient). Right?

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

Did you untick protected mode in FF for flash? Tried that thru "about:config>dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode;true" problem still persist... I did not make it in Firefox itself (I have there still "false" instead of "true") but on my harddisk: - Go to the file mms.cfg which you will fin...

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

Without the problem with Norton in my case the startup time is about the same as for Bo: 3 to 5 seconds I would say.

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

Thanks, Craig. I appreciate your willingness and your patience to explain the situation and I understand it better now.

At least I will try it to complain no longer about the incompatibilty SBIE - Norton.

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

As "niche" software, then well... I won't entertain that argument; but half a billion page views and 200 thousand downloads in 6 months may prove, we are only niche. I do not regard it as negative when something is a niche product. (Niche software can be excellent.) Nor was my intention to doubt ab...

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

:x After a restart of my computer the situation is more or less as bad as it was before the update of Firefox to version 43.0.2: Sometimes I may be lucky and Firefox indeed opens immediately in the sandbox. But usually two, three or even more attempts are necessary. It's a shame that the involved so...

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

With some precaution I tend to say that there are good news: Today I installed the latest version of Firefox - 43.0.2 - and from this time the browser starts again in the sandbox without delay while Norton Internet Security is installed and enabled (version 22.5.5.15)! I said that these are good new...

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

Happy news for Norton & Win 8.1-users: It seems, that sandboxed FF is running since latest Norton-updates. I have nothing changed besides the actual virus live updates of october 30. [...] Would be nice, if other affected users report their experiences. BTW: The problems on XP still remain. Unfortu...

Re: Sandboxie Error Message/Pop Up Box

This is also a problem with which you are not alone (and whose reasons could not be clearly found out). You find a thread about it here: http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=19626 and another one here: http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3243 The positiv...

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

Thanks, Bo, for your helpful (as always) reply. About question 2. Pete, extra protection for the browser? I recommend script blocking. On Firefox, the real thing is NoScript. Of course I use NoScript already a long time. 8) (So I think with my present solution SBIE + NoScript + Norton you regard me ...

Re: Sandboxie cannot open (a sandboxed) Firefox anymore

@ Curt: Sorry, I must confirm safemist's experience. I immediately looked at my configuration concerning Norton ---> Administrative Settings ---> both options under "Firefox Cleanup". And I saw that I had already disabled both options all the time. (Like bjm  ) Nevertheless the issue exists. I...
