Do you have the Online Armor Run Safer going at the same time as Sandboxies Drop Rights feature is being used? If so, try unchecking the Drop Rights setting. Also, look within the OA program for a way to exclude the Sandboxie processes - not the sandbox - the Sandboxie folder in Program Files.

Isn't there a setting within Firefox to selectively keep cookies? And then a setting within Sandboxie allowing direct access to Firefox cookies? And then let the sandbox auto/delete.

lothar, posting links to the malware is crucial in giving credibility to what you said. Until then all we have are brief vague concepts for ways the malware could break out. I agree. If you want to say that there might be a malware invented someday that exploits a native API that Tzuk doesn't have ...

Thank you MitchE323 that does seem to have caught the problem. I am tempted to leave it as "catch all" in case of future oddities. You're welcome, you are aware that the open path can be narrowed a bit as to the path and the program. See how it goes for a while. Your opening post pointed out a coup...

There are some that have an error with OCRAware but you don't have that error. Just mentioning it. http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2838 You can try in Window Access under Resource Access adding a single * and apply to All Programs. This would just be a test to see if Window Access is ...

Does this make any sense or am I way off base? It makes a ton of sense to me. Someone wants to run LUA on the main system and comes across a program that for whatever reason needs Administrator rights to install? - no problem, just install it in a sandbox to test it out and hide the fact you are LU...

^^^^^^^ Just a note for those that routinely search and delete registy referances on programs they uninstall. There could be a key that is just a bunch of numbers; "56435-768765-6709876" under the key is a subkey; defaultIcon= ABCD.EXE,0 So you search through the registry and delete all referances t...

Thank you so much Mitch for going through this trouble and helping me out No problem, folks around here know I am an icon nut, this would drive me crazy too. We are all assuming a clean, complete uninstall and that may not be the case with the programs listed. Try Guest10s' link but it may ...

I guess you have already tried unchecking "Use Auto Play For All Media And Devices" and rebooting and then rechecking that box?

This site lists the 'cause' as a problem in shell32.dll? Says it applies to XP Home and Pro, but doesn't list Vista.

Try opening them sandboxed in an empty sandbox - either by deleting the contents of the present sandbox, or creating a new sandbox and right click Run Sandboxed in the new box. That will tell you if the problem is a file in the sandbox. Just a guess here; Maybe the sandbox is not set to auto delete ...
