Sunday's Experimentations

Hi Guest10 Sorry I did not get back to you yesterday but I spent most of Sunday running Sandboxie to see if it was working as I expected it to. This is what I found: On the whole, I could download sand-boxed files, which appears only in my sand-boxed windows explorer, and I could cut and paste those...

Is my copy of sandboxie working properly?

Hi Guest10 I carried out a three tests and found out the following: I ran my Opera (V11.01) browser sandboxed and downloaded a small jpeg file, I then opened windows explorer, also sandboxed, and examined the file, which was where I downloaded it. I also opened a second instance of windows explorer,...

The continuing saga of the missing sandbox

Guest10 Your info is gladly received and I will try to answer your questions as best I can: Where is that line located, under the [GlobalSettings] section? Here's everything under Global settings: [GlobalSettings] Template=NortonInternetSecurity Template=AdobeAcrobatReader Template=HP_UniversalPrint...

Hi Guest10

This is the part of my configuration settings that matters:

FileRootPath=C:\Sandbox\%USER%\%SANDBOX%

There are no other settings that point to any other drive, I guess that all that will be left is for me to manually create the folder.

Hi Guys (especially Mike and Guest10) 1) Mike Thanks for the the "TinyPic" URL, I tried Photobucket and my screen print came out no bigger than an icon, tried to resize it and my print became an unreadable blur. Cheers 2) Guest10 Here's my TinyPic screen print: http://i55.tinypic.com/2w3ud6w.jpg Now...

Hi Guest10

I have followed your instructions and got a screen print to show you but there is no way I can attach, copy, cut or paste it to my post.

Anyway, there is no sandbox in the default folder.

UK Bob

PS. Is there a way to post my screen print?

Problem solved but another one pops up.

Hi guys (especially Guest10 & Blues) Well, I (nervously) took the plunge and re-installed Sandboxie V3.54, on my XP Pro SP3 PC, and it installed without the dreaded "continuous crash and reboot" problem. So, I now have the MS update KB2524375 co-existing quite happily with Sandboxie V3.54 and I am v...

Guest10 & Blues Although KB2524375 is suppose to act in a limited number of areas, I can't help feeling that whenever MS release an update, regardless of its built in limits and goals, things can (and do) go wrong. Let me explain, my previous PC was an under powered pentium 4 with only 512MB memory ...

Guest10

Now that my PC is working again, I guess I'm just a little worried about re-installing Sanboxie V3.54 again.

I guess I'll probably hold off until the next Sandboxie update.

Sorry Tzuk Guest got it right, the update is KB2524375, not KB2524372 as I said before. I must have done a typo and cut and pasted the wrong number ever since. Sorry about that, I will now correct my previous posts. UK Bob PS. I have now changed KB2524372, on my previous posts, to KB2524375. PPS. Ch...

Guest10 You asked: Are you sure of that KB number? Yes, I am 100% sure. I had updated Sandboxie 3.52 to 3.54 a couple of days before, there was a warning when doing the update that there may be this "continual crashing and rebooting" but that did not happen. However, as soon as I installed KB2524375...

MS Latest security update KB2524372

Dear Forum Members Is there anybody else out there like me that is having problems with Sandboxie 3.54 and KB2524375, i.e. continual crashing and rebooting. Unfortunately, because KB2524375 insists on reinstalling itself so I had to uninstall Sandboxie, which then allowed NT Authority/System to rese...

Guest 10

Thank you for your advice, I can now run Firefox sandboxed, which was what I always wanted to do.

I am also going to copy and paste your post into Word and save it for future reference.

Once again, thanks.

Totally New to Sandboxie (I've just installed it)

Dear Forum Members I have just installed this protective software and I am having a little problem getting to grips with it, not that I am a novice PC user is just that I have never used anything like this before. I use three browsers, Opera - my default, Firefox - used for surfing and IE8.0 - is pr...
