Since installing the 3.32 version some weeks back, I have not once had this error message on my Windows 2000 system even though I've continued to work it whilst sandboxes are closing, which is when I'd normally get it.

Looking good.

No longer got the can't-move-sandbox error message

Since installing the 3.32 version (onto my Windows 2000 system) some weeks ago, I haven't once had the error message: "cannot move sandbox out of the way" when shutting down a sandboxed app. even when working the laptop hard.

Many thanks

An occasion when the Recovery Console does not appear

Just for info only, I previously said it might help to detail under which conditions the Recovery Console doesn't popup. I don't find it a problem, but it might help Tzuk get to the bottom of it. OS = WINDOWS 2000 SP4 fully patched. Browser = Opera 9.52 Site from which download made = http://www.bbc...

I feel this is safe enough but would appreciate advice for any improved methods. You are quite correct in that approach. I believe the quote was addressing a hypothetical where the basis was continuous sandboxing. I would stick with what you are doing as you are comfortable with it and any "improve...

Well you don't need experiance or indicators, the answer is no, the updates will not be applied - at least not to your real system anyway. SandboxIE PREVENTS changes to your real system. Now, with some programs you can use an openfilepath to lets say a 'definitions' file for example and then that c...

A question or two

I notice, from a few postings, that some people run Windows Explorer sandboxed, especially for restricted, user accounts. Whilst I have forced all my external drives (cd, USBs ....) to run sandboxed (as well as my browser, e-mail client etc), I wonder what extra protection would be added by forcing ...

Many thanks and especially for your continued support for Windows 2000. No, as usual, the problem was on the human side of the man-machine combination.

Problem solved. Reminder of problem: overwriting with Sandboxie newer than 3.26.09 caused some programs not to run in their sandboxes. Error messages SBIE2306 and SBIE2304 popped up. Solution: Under Resource Access in Sandboxie Settings I had always restricted access to Registry keys for certain app...

Thanks, Ronen. Same problem with 3.26.15, but if I uninstall the older version and install the new one (instead of overwriting), it appears to work without problem. I also discovered my assumption was wrong: some applications will run in their sandboxes. Adobe Reader, Word and MediaPlayer Classic wo...

Hi,

it's 2.0.0.14 but it also happened on Outlook Express. In fact, having tried to open these 2 applications, which I always run snadboxed, I realised it was SB and not the applications. I didn't try running anything else sandboxed.

3.26.13 snag - feedback

Apologies if I should not be using 3.26.13, but I overwrote version 3.26.09 with 3.26.13 and, on trying to open a normally sandboxed program (eg Firefox or OE), I got the SB error message popup with 2 messages: SBIE2306 Could not locate user directory (C0000022/11) SBIE2304 Initialization failed for...

I've also had this minor snag from time to time since installing Sandboxie many months ago. Like you I'm on Windows 2000 Pro; I'm also using an old laptop. The problem hasn't got worse or better with Sandboxie updates and it certainly doesn't happen all the time. In fact, when it does happen, I've t...

Question on Permissions for Sandboxie folder

Basic question - not specific to Sandboxie. I'm running Windows 2000 and I thought I'd limit the permissions on the SB folder, which was set to Everyone having full control, inherited from the parent Program Files folder. I reset it to give Administrators full control, and Users limited control i.e....
