Errors Opening Instance of Acrobat from Sandboxed Firefox
Not a serious problem (as far as I know), but when I click "Download PDF" to get a bank statement from a secure Web site in sandboxed (currently vs. 4.12 64-bit free) Firefox 30.0 under Windows 7 SP1 and then select "Open with Acrobat," a yellow-bordered instance of Acrobat XI opens with the desired...

Re: error message SBIE1408 (Unknown user name SID) every rel
I just reviewed your procmon pmls. There is a lot going on in this machine. First, thanks a **lot** for your help here. You appear to have solved my problem and cleaned up my machine a bit in the process. Details follow: 1) Did you know that ZeroConfigService.exe is crashing? You should have severa...

I just reviewed your procmon pmls. There is a lot going on in this machine... Try to disable as much of this extra stuff as you can and try to isolate the problem... Wow! I'm a bit overwhelmed. I don't know what a lot of this stuff is (except Windows8FirewallControl.exe, which I need all the time, ...

Re: error message SBIE1408 (Unknown user name SID) every rel
Ok, I will get back to looking into this as soon as I can. Update: I just updated to Sandboxie (free) 4.12 (64-bit), and this error persists (still 64-bit Windows 7 SP1). It now complains about a new "Unknown user name," however: SBIE1408 Unknown user name for SID: S-1-5-20 SBIE1408 Unknown user na...

...can you disable Windows8FirewallService.exe and see if that might be causing the problem? Windows8FirewallService.exe is apparently **not** causing the problem. I had to set the service to "Disabled" in order to stop it -- "Manual" was not enough. After that I shut down and restarted the compute...

Re: error message SBIE1408 (Unknown user name SID) every rel
It will take time to go through these logs. In the meantime, can you disable Windows8FirewallService.exe and see if that might be causing the problem? I will try to get to that this afternoon/evening. The problem is that I might have to uninstall Windows7FirewallControl entirely to keep its service...

Re: error message SBIE1408 (Unknown user name SID) every rel
If you can recreate this problem by starting SbieSvc and SbieCtrl manually (I think this is the case from your previous posts), then don't worry about Procmon boot logging... No, the error does **not** occur when both the service and (later) the control are started manually. I just checked this in ...

How about taking a look at boot logging? Re: error message SBIE1408 (Unknown user name SID) every rel
jclarkw, are you completely logging off one account and into another or are you using fast-user switching? Yes. No fast user switching. And for these tests there's been on logging off and on. In each test case the machine was fully shut down and then powered back up. (As necessary from the Standard...
