I am saying that on my XP sp3 32bit machine I installed KB2898785 update today and have seen no error message.

I am not saying it doesn't cause the issue on OTHER operating systems.

Just for info, installing MS-patch: KB2898785 on XP does not seem to cause this issue.

I have Program files excluded in OA on all my PC's.

No issues at all then with any software conflicts and I still get the benefit of OA.

This way I feel I get the best bits of both softwares.

Regarding your question ''So the questions are why does this folder use so much space, despite the temporary files being set to only 100MB in IE and is there anyway to control the size of this folder?''

I have updated Win 8 to Win 8.1 and am using Sbie 4.06 with IE 11.

No issues so far.

Delete after closing browser works for me, as does quick recovery

AaLF if you haven't already rebooted after setting FF back as default then try that.

Otherwise just go to your pc Control Panel and under the 'set your default programs' highlight FF and select 'set this program as default'

(this is on Win 7)

I experience a similar thing using IE10. I have found a workaround I use. When you choose 'open' and IE says it cannot find download directory, I press the 'retry' button. IE10 then runs the security scan and opens the doc (or whatever it was) See here a thread I had about it http://www.sandboxie.co...
