Operating systems (e.g., XP) in Sandbox? [SOLVED]

It's been a while since I last used Sandboxie. I recall, perhaps incorrectly, having installed XP in a sandbox. Can this be done? Perhaps I have the wrong program. When I run the install.exe file, it wants Administrator privileges, but that operation fails.

Make Sandboxie/Firefox the default browser?[SOLVED]

Windows 7, sp 1. When I click on a web link in my emailer, my default browser, Firefox, fires up, even though I have a sandboxed browser installed. I can't change this in control panel, because they don't recognize the sandboxed browser, only the original Firefox. Is there some way to get Windows 7 ...

I don't see a way to edit my original post, so I will enter a 'reply'. Namely, at first I thought that Firefox was storing cookies outside the box, but I'm not so sure about that. In any case, all the new cookies that come in should be stored in the sandbox, if Sandboxie is to operate as advertised....

Is there any known way ransomware (or any other malware) can break out of the sandbox and corrupt my real files?
