Emptying the sandbox

If I do not check emptying the sandbox on closure, then all the work I have done is transferred to the basic unsandboxed browser. If I do check to clear the sandbox on closure, then all the work is lost and is not transferred to the basic browser. I have wasted my time and lost all I have done durin...

Re: Loss of Saved Data

Awesome. Thanks. Just wanted to confirm that's what I had too. Craig, so pleased to be of some use. Just another beneficial point of this fix which I have noticed. I have an extension called Click & Clean added to Opera from the Chrome webstore. Opera allows and accepts this. For 3-4 weeks I have n...

Re: Loss of Saved Data

What are the exact lines you are using currently for your usage in Opera? I want to gather that up so we can can formulate one that works in the upcoming betas to add to the original one. Would you happen to know when they changed it? I used the lines given by rpljhun . They are shown below exactly...

Re: Loss of Saved Data

The Edit had expired on my last post. Apologies, the statement "There have been 86 updates since I installed it around January 2016." is wrong, please ignore. I made a mistake and quoted a wrong figure. If Craig or somebody could possibly delete this expression from the relevant post together with t...

Re: Loss of Saved Data

We will have to add a new template, while keeping the old so that users running older Opera will be ok. But we can easily add this newer template under Applications. Glad that worked, your "problem" made me check to see what had changed, and it did change. Craig, my Opera is kept updated automatica...

Re: Loss of Saved Data

@ yabbadoo As what I can see those settings won't work because those two settings are use for template and it doesn't exist. You may try the settings bellow instead. opera.exe,%AppData%\Opera Software\*\Bookmarks* opera.exe,%AppData%\Opera Software\*\Thumbnails* Just go to File Access > Direct Acce...

Re: Loss of Saved Data

@ Bo

Sounded brilliant Bo.

I did exactly what you said with no problem. I copied your line and pasted it into the panel "Add resource name". When I pressed OK it showed as added to the main list, highlighted in blue, but every time I pressed Apply, it was deleted as unacceptable. Just disappeared.

Re: Loss of Saved Data

From what started out as a seemingly simple problem in my little world, a monumental and highly complex issue has developed. I used Google Chrome for many years and only changed to Opera when Google dumped Win XP. I have found Opera many times better than Chrome and would never consider going back t...

Re: Loss of Saved Data

Yabaddoo, I believe you like to save bookmarks out of the sandboxed browsing session and still be able to delete contents of the sandbox when you exit the browser, Right? If thats the case, What happens if you tick the setting to Allow direct access to Opera bookmarks, and set the sandbox to delete...

Re: Loss of Saved Data

I hope you can throw some light on this exercise. Firstly, I do not open my Opera browser, I click the SBxie icon on my desktop and as SBxie is programmed to open my default browser (Opera), it does it, up comes Opera all sandboxed. I did this :- Checked the direst access for Opera. http://i.imgur.c...

Re: Loss of Saved Data

Downloads are subjected to a "recovery" panel and a "destination" panel, both of which have to be authorized by the user.

This effectively gives the download a "passport" to exit the sandbox. Bookmarks and other saved file data have no such "passports" and are deleted on browser closure.

Re: Loss of Saved Data

Thank you so much Craig and Bo, you never fail to give me your valuable comments on my little problems. Loss of Saved Data [SOLVED]

I use Sandboxie all the time to open my Opera browser. I have never noticed this problem before. I save special bookmarks mostly in the folders of my bookmarks bar, just like i always have done for years. I also save popular sites on the Speed Dial homepage of Opera which appear as icons. Recently, ...
