Re: Are my assumptions correct with Sandboxie?

You are welcome, BC. Here are a couple of ideas for you to keep in mind when installing programs in a sandbox. One, for better isolation, separate programs from each other by creating dedicated sandboxes for different programs. Two, when you install programs in a sandbox that don't require internet ...

Re: Are my assumptions correct with Sandboxie?

Hi, BrownChilD. 1. You can control what sandboxed programs can write outside the sandbox via Sandbox settings. If you dont want nothing to get out, dont allow nothing. Regarding READ, sandboxed programs have to read outside the sandbox in order for them to work properly. If there are files they have...

Tanaka, I dont know if it will make any difference for you but for Chrome, you should Force chrome.exe with Forced programs not the Chrome folder with Forced folders. But regardless, if you hide the message, and Chrome works fine, then its OK to hide the message.

Re: downloads not sandboxed

Are you saying that I shouldn't see any downloads listed in Sbie Control/Show Window/Quick Recovery folders/ downloads? I do, they wait there until I close browser and then ask to be recovered. Sometimes in that folder I right-click on them and select 'recover to same folder' (my downloads folder) ...

Re: downloads not sandboxed

There is an MP4 file in there, I tried opening it in Windows Media Player, and it opened without yellow border..) Thats normal. Windows media player dont work too well with Forced folders. If WMP is your default video player or if you use it sometimes, you should make it a Forced program. But in an...

I thought he meant, seeing downloads immediately after opening Sandboxie control.

Re: Unable to install latest version 5.24

Sorry, Peter, I dont know what to tell you other than perhaps try reinstalling Sandboxie. Use the installer to uninstall. Also, check as suggested by Barb the signatures of the SbieDrv.sys. Mine look proper in W7. Read this post. https://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=25545#p132736...

Re: Firefox 58 very slow with Sandboxie

Good, Jeffrey. I didn't mention Sandbox content level as I thought disabling Multiprocess would include that

Workarounds like disabling Multiprocess and changing Sandbox content level fix many problems in Firefox related and unrelated to Sandboxie.

Re: downloads not sandboxed

shmu, downloads are not supposed to show up in Sandboxie control.

Make sure the Downloads folder is set as a Forced folder, so when you recover downloads out of the sandbox, they run sandboxed automatically when executed.

Re: Unable to install latest version 5.24

Peter, you are having this issue because your W7 doesn't have Sp 1. Read this thread.

Re: Setting up Sandboxes [SOLVED]

I updated Foxit in my W10 to 9.0.1.1049, all regarding Sandboxie looks good, works good. I checked also in my W7, I already had that version, deleting the sandbox works well also in that computer.
