Uwe, it looks like you are using the subsilver2 board style. I set mine to that style, in user ctrl-panel, disabled smilies and BBCode by default, and disabled displaying these by default as well. I looked at a couple of the posts where the BBCode and smilies were not enabled. It looks like in some cases, the 2 "disable" checkbox options in lower left are selected as the default. it probably has nothing to do with this problem, I use IE10 because Ghostery does not work with IE11.
