Open the Resource Access Monitor before sending the document to your fax printer. Might reveal resources that are required when using the fax printer driver.

It means your license will remain valid even if you upgrade to a newer version.
Your license will expire only after the time limit, it is not tied to a particular version.

I did not make any changes to the Windows 8.1 printing fix, but whatever has caused it to behave better, that is good news.

There are some reports about LastPass not working with Sandboxie, either at all or perhaps only on Windows 8.1.
