clearing sandbox and net banking
Just looking for some confirmation. I am usually having two browsers open, each running in their own sandbox. The sandboxes are set up to only allow the browser to access the internet and with invocation to automatically delete sandbox when last sandboxed program ends. If I go to my banking site I a...

thanks Paul, that was very clear and helpful :) One follow-up question: Any idea why my opera comes up with a "store init" and "mail init" error message? Basically in this case I had Opera and FF already running sandboxed and then followed your testing example. Opera did open a second version outsid...

forced programs and override?
I have set up my three sandboxes for the different browsers I am using and have also forced them to run sandboxed. So if I click on my normal taskbar icon, the browser will open sandboxed without me having to choose a sandbox or rightclick anything. Generally speaking this is fine for me. However I ...

Be aware this will block internet access for everything except this program. So if you choose firefox.exe for example, if it launches Windows Media Player, then WMP will not be able to connect. and Remember that with 'Child Processes' you do not need an additional box. IE calls on WMP that way, so ...

thanks Mitch - your trick worked. I have now set up three sandboxes - one for each browser. I usually run both Opera and FF at the same time for different purposes. Anyway, this way I can do my browsing and restrict other access. I noticed that that this doesn't work in the free version - will upgra...

Wraithdu, no I don't see these settings despite me clicking the ok and opera exe shown before. However, once I close the control box and reopen, the field is empty again. I probably have conflicting expectations because I also already configured SB to allow Direct Access for Opera Email under Applic...

Open Sandboxie Control, right-click the sandbox you want to configure - Sandbox Settings -> Resource Access -> Internet Access -> choose the program you want to have access by name or browse for it I am sorry but I am still confused. I am using one sandbox (default) and would like to run both of my...

If you use 7 sandboxes, I guess you need to select the relevant sandbox each time you want to run sb. For myself and at least for now, I would like to avoid this interim step of having to tell sb which box to use. I would find it more convenient to just use" run sandboxed" and automatically Opera op...

If you move Opera's mail folder, then if an unsandboxed Opera can successfully find the mail, you can use Sandboxie's Sandbox Settings to allow opera.exe Direct File Access to the new location. Sandbox Settings | Resource Access | File Access | Direct Access Select opera.exe from the box "The list ...

I have now managed to migrate my mail folders to a separte harddrive (not on c:\) . This will make it easier for me in future to do backups and use a rollback program. While this now works fine outside of Sandboxie, it seems I have lost all access within sandboxie to Mail and contacts and I cannot a...

thanks Paul, having compared the reference lines you quoted I notice a slight but probably relevant difference. My directory is currently on: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Opera\Opera 9\Mail and sandbox.ini shows OpenFilePath=opera.exe,%AppData%\Opera\Opera\mail Does that mean I sh...

excluding mail folders in Opera
I would like to run Opera sandboxed but since Opera is also used for my email, I would like to exclude the email folders from being sandboxed, ie any emails received during a sandboxed session should remain even if I delete the sandbox contents. Is this possible? I thought I had configured SB correc...
