Ahh sorry, I have the original version of skyrim, not SE. The version I have which doesn't use hardlinks is 0.56.1. Also doesn't have the .net framework requirements that the later version has.
Good luck

Re: Hardlinks Workarounds
Is this nexus mod manager by any chance? I had the same issue when modding skyrim. Luckily I had an older version of nmm which worked perfectly sandboxed so I just used that.

Maybe not connected but I noticed on the release notes for firefox 58.0.1 the following: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/58.0.1/releasenotes/ unresolved Users running Firefox for Windows over a Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) may find that audio playback is disabled due to increased security r...

Re: Parent-Child Sandboxes
Of course, if I dig deeper, change some registry entries, modify environmental variables..., there's a good chance I got it up and run but that's just too much trouble. No pain no gain :). There's been a tonne of great feature suggestions on this board but I think dev focus is entirely on compatibi...

Re: Parent-Child Sandboxes
I agree an official solution would be great, this isn't an attack on your request, and my solution isn't perfect... But I do disagree with most of your response. it doesn't really work well I currently have 12 different software installations using this technique. It works perfectly well for me. I'm...

Re: Parent-Child Sandboxes
I actually do this very thing already with the majority of my sandboxed software. By default my sandboxie folder (FileRootPath) points to my ramdisk, but I also have a folder called "PersistentSandbox" which houses permanent template sandboxes that other boxes pull from. So for instance create 2 san...

Re: confused...
If I'm not getting it wrong, the sandboxed program can read what it likes, unless I am knowledgeable enough to know what to prevent it accessing, (I'm not). Correct, You can prevent a program reading a directory using sandboxie control. Hit the sandbox drop down menu -> sandbox (for instance defaul...

Re: Makes Sandboxie pc-accounts less private or am I wrong?
I'm probably missing something but can you not just change the FileRootPath in sandboxie.ini? E.g.: FileRootPath=C:\Users\%USER%\Documents\sandbox\%USER%\%SANDBOX% or even, FileRootPath=C:\Users\%USER%\Documents\sandbox\%SANDBOX% Edit: I see this was already suggested by BUCKAROO in the link Barb pr...

Re: The Anti-Sandboxie Rats use. Was this patched?
No, it doesn't re-open itself after termination. Every time it starts it is executed by the user who drags the exe into sandboxie.ericprince811 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2017 5:45 pmBut for this it shows that it was able to re-open itself after termination. If that is the case can it re-write itself even after the contents are deleted.

Re: Sandbox delete command - Snapshot tool
I believe sandboxie only creates a 0 byte file if there's no matching file already in the sandbox. If the file exists both on the system and in the sandbox (in the same path) then only the creation date is changed and the file is otherwise unchanged. Not sure if it's always been this way.

Re: Sandbox delete command - Snapshot tool
If a file with the same name exists in the corresponding location outside of the sandbox, then the file is not truly deleted inside of the sandbox, but is given a file "Creation" date that pre-dates DOS: an illegal "Creation" date, which has the effect of hiding that file when a sandboxed program l...

Re: The Anti-Sandboxie Rats use. Was this patched?
Yes i found some troubling information about rats that can get around the sandbox with coding. This link shows you can patch a server but not sandboxie itself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhBooSrRtnc I am concerned with this considering I am seeing cmd.exe launch whenever chrome is launched. An...

Re: Forced Programs to "Run as UAC Administrator"?
I haven't tested that scenario, but it seems that it would require for a user to already have the software installed in their host, and then executing it as admin via Sandbox. Or I guess a vulnerability in mailbird allowing it to be used as a malicious platform. I agree though, I don't think it's a...

Re: Forced Programs to "Run as UAC Administrator"?
You can test it by creating a folder, blocking it from Sandboxie then running a program as Administrator and trying to access its contents (you can try to navigate to it via Internet Explorer, for example). This would trigger sandboxie to block access to the folder, as would be expected. Now downlo...

Re: Forced Programs to "Run as UAC Administrator"?
Be aware that It's possible for programs running as UAC admin under sandboxie to view files in "blocked access" folders as I believe the extra rights allow disk level reading. Shouldn't be a huge issue for the mail app but worth considering for less trusted programs.
