Re: 'OLD' Microsoft Office 2003 and Sandboxie

Maybe it's some difference between XP Sp3 and WIN-7. Your first paragraph results are different from mine. OK...with Opera, the browser checkbox in Applications did not work to let bookmarks through the 'Box, but somebody told/taught me about Direct Access for the three Opera bookmark files in User ...

Re: 'OLD' Microsoft Office 2003 and Sandboxie

Yes, Sir... There are five (5) choices of Outlook in the E-Mail Readers part of Applications; I chose 'OUTLOOK', as the other four have other stuff as well. When I did, and opened Outlook, the Windows Screen came up about ....'outlook cannot work' [or words to that effect], 'close the program'. Unch...

'OLD' Microsoft Office 2003 and Sandboxie

I used to run Mrs. Gizmo's computer with Office 2003 and Sandboxie, [so any goofy E-Mails from her Old Girlfriends were sandboxed]. Yeah, yeah...'2003' IS ancient, but for us, the E-Mail client and 'Word' work great, and WE OWN IT. Along came newer versions of Sandboxie and '2003' wouldn't work in T...

Re: OPERA 34 AutoUpdates ???

Wellllll........ no going back to '34'...at least not from MY install file. I'm sure '35' will run my small needs just fine, but my 'install .exe' is for the current "Stable" version...not necessary a specific version. Probably available somewhere, but 'DILLIGAFF' on that one...

Re: OPERA 34 AutoUpdates ???

Hello there.... Long time, no see.... Well, OPERA finally released version '35'....which *I* would count as an Update, from version '34'. [usually the 'new' features are things that *I* don't even use or know HOW to use, but...] I started my '34' version in "Disable Forced Programs", ran the version...

Re: With Sandboxie why even bother with Windows Updates ?

Dragged an old Hard Drive out of my junk-box, carefully removed the one that had been in this computer, put in The Junker, formatted it, installed everything I usually do....NO MICROSOFT UPDATES OF ANY KIND, and I am happily running along, goof-proof so far. I am running with I.E. Un-Checked in the ...

[All that painfully slow typing, for nothing.... "No good deed goes unpunished"...]

She doesn't want to go the S/B way..... So be it....

Off The Shelf Dell WIN10...work with S/B 5.06 ??

{I ran WIN 10 for a month, year or so ago, so I know a dangerously small amount about it} Recently a 'contemporary' of my Wife brought her WIN8 computer up here; she thought it might have a problem. When I asked her why she hadn't upgraded that POS to WIN10, she told me come Senior Center clown told...

Re: With Sandboxie why even bother with Windows Updates ?

HikariWS....I tried to understand your routine. I honestly thank you for outlining it. I suspect your typing is much faster than mine, but still, you took a fair amount of time to try explaining what, for me, is far more elaborate than my background can digest. I'm sorry. I have faith, backed by a f...

Re: With Sandboxie why even bother with Windows Updates ?

Thank You All for intelligent, wise, information. I 'slept' on it and have [sigh] concluded I will continue dancing to the beat of Patch Tuesday. Sort of like painting the whole damned house to cover a few rusty nails, though. And believe me, when *I* read those KB details, it might as well be White...
