Re: Can you install programs on sandboxie?

A caveat: If the program requires installation of a driver, then you're out of luck. Otherwise, I have installed and tested many programs in sandboxes (I create "testboxes"). I think you'll find that you will have the most success installing and running portable apps in Sandboxie ( http://www.portab...

Re: Legitimate News site cannot displayed!

Sandboxie's original developer (tzuk) didn't necessarily like to recommend using the "Screen Readers" template, since it does weaken the sandbox somewhat, but using it allows Flash to work for me: Sandbox Settings > Applications > Accessibility Interesting. I applied the setting and the live stream...

Problem right after reboot

Any ideas why I keep seeing this right after my system starts up from a reboot, even though this same sandbox was fully emptied (no red dots showing) just prior to my shutting down the computer? Image 1.png In other words, the default box becomes active and, of course, the SBIE icon in the system tr...

Re: New computer and Registration Key

@Craig, " If you have Windows 10, you must use version 5 or better." I'm running Windows 7 Pro for now. You should run v5.06, the stable version. MS Updates as of Oct 2015 broke many things. "In fact, because of Windows updates in Oct, anything below v5.05 will not work." I'm assuming this sentence ...

New computer and Registration Key [SOLVED]

I'm a long-time user of Sandboxie and purchased a Personal License back on 6/20/2008 and another Personal License on 10/13/2011. I bought the second one just because I like the program so much and wanted to support Ronen Tzur in his efforts to sustain it. I still have the receipts for the licenses. ...

Re: Can't use this program when sandboxed

It works in Sandboxie version 3.76 (running on Win 7). Sandboxie versions after 3.76 broke some media-related apps that I use, so I remain on v 3.76. You can install v3.76 if you wish.

Good feedback.

I may give an updated version another try in the near future.

Observations

I am a longtime and current user of Sandboxie and a fanboy of it. It's been a while since I've visited this forum; I was a frequent poster but problems that I experienced with versions 4.X and beyond have kept me at the 3.7X level. So there hasn't been much need for me to stay frequently tuned in to...

Re: Sandboxie now unusable?

Bo, I think most...if not all...of us appreciate the continued support from Invincea. The point of this thread is to express disappointment over the fact that more recent versions of SBIE have rendered it less useful than in the past to install and/or test software apps. To SBIE users who don't use ...

Re: Sandboxie now unusable?

There just isn't a lot of demand to get DVD burning & 3D modeling software running under Sandboxie. These are just not large sources of malware. Understood, Curt. My reason for using SBIE in these circumstances was not out of malware concerns, but rather to mitigate excessive, needless clutter on m...

Re: Sandboxie now unusable?

@Ihgs, FWIW, I've been stuck on 3.76 for a long time too due to subsequent versions breaking some of my more commonly used apps. I made mention of this in several posts (you can search the forum if you're interested), but received very little in the way of response or help. My plan is to keep using ...

Re: Still stuck on earlier versions

I realize the problems I am experiencing with SBIE versions post 3.7X are not widespread and therefore very low-priority. (See the above word/link "post" for an explanation of the problems.) But I'm wondering if any of the more seasoned users of Sandboxie would be willing to test and confirm they ca...

Still stuck on earlier versions

Please see this post . I was hoping version 4.10 would have fixed the incompatibility issues I have been experiencing when installing and running some of my media apps (e.g. portable dvdstyler, handbrake) in sandboxes with default settings. Unfortunately, the problems are continuing and I remain stu...
