Thanks so much for fixing the Windows 8 BSOD before you exited. You were always committed to Sandboxie and your users. That is a very rare trait these days. For that I will always admire you. I also want to thank you for Sandboxie. It has changed the way I use the internet and has kept myself and my...

Yes, I don't have Steam, Origin and the likes guarded, because they won't work with AppGuard, as they constantly try to do things which are prohibited by AppGuard. In AppGuard's and Sandboxie's defense: the publishers of these programs are clearly defying Microsofts guidelines as to to how programs...

Hello Der Moloch. Thanks for your reply. I figured running it outside the sandbox would be "normal". I did buy AppGuard when it was on sale but I have yet to install it. I built this machine in July and all the bugs are just about solved so I didn't want to add a program that could complicate matter...

How are you using Sandboxie with Battlefield 4?

Are there any Battlefield 4 players using Sandboxie? If so is it a complicated task getting them to work together properly? Does everything work correctly? For the time being I'm just disabling forced programs. In all honesty I never really expected Sandboxie to be compatible with games. If you're n...

Version .04 has been installed since Nov. 26th and so far so good. In the past I have went as long as 1 1/2 months between BSOD's so I guess we will see. It's encouraging that others have also been BSOD free!

P.S. I also kept faststartup enabled the entire time.

Thanks C. Kuma. If I can figure out how to make a shortcut to start notepad as admin sandboxed I will give a try for a while.

Re: BSoD and a possible temporary workaround

I've experienced the BSoD many times while using Windows 8 and 8.1 and with Sandboxie 4.06 and earlier versions. I haven't tried the 4.07 betas yet, though. I have noticed the following behavior, and I hope this information will help while a solution is being sought. Of course, this is just my expe...

If I'm in my standard user account is it normal for Sandboxie to write to my admin account sandbox file C:\Sandbox\SuperUser\ ? Maybe it is part of the problem or a result of the BSOD. It doesn't happen often as I've been keeping an occasional eye on it for a while. I was in my admin account the day...

Just had a BSOD with 4.07.03. I have the "complete memory dump" file if you want me to zip it and upload it. I also have the contents of the sandbox which is only 1.72KB zipped. From WhoCrashed: On Tue 11/19/2013 6:12:57 AM GMT your computer crashed crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\111913-12828-...

tzuk wrote:If you have more crashes with fast startup enabled, and if you don't mind turning it back on, then I would say yes. But again, I don't know if version 4.07.03 actually fixes the BSOD problem.
Thanks. I enabled fastboot yesterday. I will keep using 4.07.03 and see how it goes.

Thanks tzuk. I will give this version a try. Should I re-enable fast startup which is default for a Windows 8 install?

Good to hear you may have found something tzuk. Since disabling fast startup and waiting for all of my icons to load in the system tray I've only had one BSOD since September 15th. Unfortunately it usually takes about 4 minutes for everything to load because a couple items are on delayed startup. He...

Re: I cannot launch Firefox sandboxed without errors (SB 4.0

OMG... Amazing the system still boots. Running Shadow Defender together with SBIE is an especially "wonderful" idea - 300% overlap. Nothing wrong with using Sbie and SD together. Sbie sandboxes programs while SD virtualizes entire partitions. I use SD on demand when surfing "high risk...

I'm using Widows 8 64 bit with a limited user account and Sbie 4.04 . After disabling fast startup I haven't seen a BSOD when starting my browser sandboxed for a little over a month. Another change I have made is letting the Intel Rapid Storage Icon fully load before I start my browsing session. I h...

Never mind. I just had another BSOD :x. Do any of you use Shadow Defender? I'll post the rest in my other thread.
