hi
i read many tips and advices here in the thread and tried them. but they didnt work.
so my problem is: i cant access internet in sandboxie firefox browser. im using kasperky total security 2017 version 17.0.0.611(h).
when i turn off kaspersky, i can access internet in sandboxie browser.
but well... i dont want to turn off my anti virus software (i think thats self explaining, why i dont want to turn it off).
so.. what exactly do i need to do so be able to access internet via sandboxie browser with running kaspersky.
somewhere i read, its kind of a ... ssl certificate problem? i dont really know what this means. but it seems important not to turn off ssl options in kaspersky. so.. not really sure how to solve my problem.

Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 7/14/17]
I looked over the first page again and noticed the Kaspersky entry still says:

Figured I might as well tack it on here as well even if it is rather belated.
I haven't checked it recently but back when I did last a similar .dll block as the BD one mentioned above did the trick in my tests.Kaspersky Internet 2015/16 (Windows 10, and 8/8.1 as well) (Must be removed for SBIE to function correctly) [On Win 7/8.1 that have SBIE excluded in KIS 2015, users have had some success ]

Kaspersky total Security 2017 works with these settings for Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Thunderbird (all default installs, no plugins tested - yet - Firefox has favs). KTS catches and removes or blocks malware.
Question @ Invincea
By doing what I did, did I lower my security any with Sandboxie?
What else can I turn on to increase my security with Sandboxie for my browsers?
I have screenshots of every setting, if needed.
@ everyone else - Can you please test and verify you get the same results?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
System: Windows 7 home premium SP1.
Installed software:
Kaspersky Total Security 2017 17.0.0.61
Sandboxie 5.16 Registered version
EMET 5.5.5871.31892
DeepFreeze
Firefox 52.0.1 32 bit
Firefox 51.01 64 bit
Chrome 57.0.2987.110 64 bit
Thunderbird 45.8.0
IE 11
Opera 44.0
Changes to Sandboxie to get this working:
Added Kaspersky to the compatibility list
Firefox (See attached image):
Under Resource Access/File Access/Direct Access
Add program --> avp.exe
Add folder (under avp.exe) c:\Program FIles\Sandboxie\
Extra settings:
Forced program = firefox.exe
Drop my rights is on
Auto delete contents of sandbox checked
Immediate recovery is off
c:\temp added to quick recovery
Chrome
Create a new Sandbox based off of Firefox.
Change the forced program to chrome.exe
Program stop\Lingering Programs added chrome.exe
Opera
Create a new Sandbox based off of Firefox.
Change the forced program to opera.exe
A bit slow to delete the sandbox, but does it on its own.
Thunderbird
Build sandbox from scratch.
I have it set to never delete
I have upgrade issues over last few years worth of Sandboxie versions... but it works
IE 11
Total waste of code... it just hangs for me right now. I do not use IE unless forced, so I have not spent much time trying to figure it out, yet.

Kaspersky Update
Hello Guys & Gals,
I am writing you to let people know Kaspersky Total Security 2017 works with Sandboxie now.
My old version of kaspersky was set to expire so i took a chance and downloaded latest Kaspersky and installed it.
The I added exclusions for install directory and the c: drive sandboxie main folder.
Currently i am using the Sandboxed Firefox while I type this message.
I have tried a couple other programs and all work great.
Either Windows, Sandboxie or Kaspersky Fixed the issue I assume since it works now.
I suggest you download the latest version to be safe.
Hope this helps others.

Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 8/2
Hey Guys & Gals,
So is it only on Windows 10 you got it to work that way or does it work with windows 8.1 as well?
Please let me know as my license is about to expire for Kaspersky Pure 3 where sandboxie worked fine.
Thanks in advance
Gren

I've noticed the same thing - Working great with Kaspersky IS 17.0.0.611b - Sandboxie 5.15.3 64bit - Firefox 50.0.2. This appears to have happened within the last week or two, hope it remains this way.

Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 8/2
Guys, I've just managed to make it work with the Kaspersky Internet Security suite (latest version) installed on Windows 10 Pro x64 Version 1607 (Build 14393.447)!
I've already tried this method earlier, so I think it's related to a recent update of Windows, Kaspersky or Sandboxie.
First add *everything* that is related to Sandboxie to the exceptions/trusted programs of Kaspersky. All folders, all executables, all dll's, and also the installer.
(I've already had this set up from one of my earlier attempts)
1. Remove network cable
2. Quit Kaspersky from system tray (don't forget to set up all the exceptions first, and maybe reboot)
3. Install Sandboxie (most recent version)
4. Try to run something in the sandbox, except Microsoft Edge! (more info later) The endlessly looped message about the "not implemented service" should be gone!
(not sure about the english terms - I use the german version)
5. Resume Kaspersky
6. Insert network cable
I've tried to get it to work so many times... Especially because this issue wasn't present earlier. I've used Sandboxie for quite a while together with Kaspersky. Finally I can use it again, that's awesome! I really hope this works for you too, guys!
What made me a bit curious, is that when I started a program in the sandbox for the first time, I got a strange report from sandboxie that I've never seen before... There is "not enough space" and "click ok to increase it" or something like that. It was a very small increase, something like from 57812 kb to 57844 kb.
Can't remember the exact wording and size, I've kind of rushed through it. However, after that everything was working fine.
The only thing I've changed on my PC since the last time I've tried to get Sandboxie to work, is installing a "RAM Cache" program. (Primo Cache)
That's a program to use some of your RAM to increase disk cache, to speed up read, write or read+write performance. (I use it in read mode)
But I hardly can imagine that this has anything to do with Sandboxie. But if - then it could be the reason for the strange "increase space" info, and/or maybe it could also the reason that it works now with Kaspersky? If my described method doesn't work for you, try to install the demo version of Primo Cache, set it up to read mode on all internal drives, and tell me if it worked!
About Microsoft Edge:
When I tried to run it in a sandbox, the Edge process (iexlore.exe) has frozen, and I couldn't run the Windows Task Manager anymore. It just didn't launch when trying to run it from Task Bar. (via right click)
And the screen that appears when pressing ctrl+alt+del didn't appear anymore. I've also tried to kill iexplore.exe from a third party Task Manager, but access was denied. And the reboot command also didn't react. I had to use the reset button on my tower.
After booting up I've tried it again, with the same result. This time there even was a check disc on reboot, and I had a strange lag of about 2 minutes after booting, before I could do anything. Luckily, everything went back to normal after a while.
So I recommend to not try it with Edge... All other browsers I've tried - Chrome, Firefox and Vivald - were all working perfectly fine.

Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 8/2
I don't actually use KIS but I have tested it on my system at a couple points in the past few years [due to high scores in tests]. It wasn't for me but I think your statement about Windows Defender on Windows 7 not having nearly the same range of protection is accurate enough and I for one can feel your frustration.Chri5 wrote:I have the same problem on Windows 7 64 bit and KIS 2016th
Is the problem here at KIS or SB ???
The recommendation KIS to uninstall and use the Defender software, can not be taken seriously or ??! The Defender software has not nearly the range of functions as a Security Suite !
I would like to know where the problem is and why this is not solved for so long. I would Sandboxie software buy but not in this state.
My understanding is that it is not really a bug with SBIE but rather some stuff that was added to Kaspersky and from what I have read the SBIE devs did reach out to Kaspersky with the info they needed to resolve the conflict but many months later nothing has changed on THEIR end. Even reading the thread on their own forum at one point it appears a fix in the works but still nothing has changed (so far)!
(IF) neither product is willing to 'shoot themselves in the foot' so to speak you have can't really expect them to work together. That's just assuming that kaspersky has a reason for keeping the added code and just hasn't deigned to let the rest of the world in on it...
The question I'd suggest you ask yourself at this point is, "Do I trust 'solution so and so' to the point that the extra layer of containment SBIE provides is pointless? If the answer is No then a concession on the 'current av' might be in order." Does this mean you HAVE to stick with Windows Defender? No....you just need something that does play nice and their recommendation of Windows Defender (eg something they likely test) is the default, that does NOT mean it's the only option...
I have to say, Craig, your last post came off kinda /mad bro...maybe it's the beer on my end?

Re: Anti-Virus programs SBIE Beta v5 & Win 10 (working/not)
I'm 200% agreed with you. I been try Kaspersky Antivirus 2017, problem still remain. As for long term Kaspersky users, I do believe SB developer will prefer not purchase SB due to they are no idea to solve compatible issue with Kaspersky. I shall uninstall SB trial version from my computer soon, as I thought compatible been solve since long time ago but as latest result I testing still not as expected.henryg wrote:What will this mean to me as a long term KIS user; and have you tested 2016 which I believe is a beta but is available now?Craig@Invincea wrote:Tested w/ SBIE Beta v5.01.4 and Win10x64 (not installed into a sandbox)(Standard install, standard options/scanning & browser extensions)
NOT Supported
Kaspersky Internet 2015
This is one of the main and best a-v programs. You HAVE to get Sandboxe working with it somehow IMO.
