If a Sandboxie short cut is made, for lets say,Firefox, each time you use this shortcut to open Firefox, it will run Sandboxed when you click that shortcut. . If however, another application opens Firefox, such a one of those applications that ask for "feedback" after uninstall,a auto updater,etc,Firef...

If you have a NAT router, and the native Windows XP firewall turned on, Your inbound protection is fine. As you know, the main reason for out bound protection is to prevent maleware that has already compromised your system, and is executed, from calling out. So to really need outbound protection, from ...

I agree with SnDPhoenix, that the Internet restriction settings of Sandboxie perform very well the functions of an out-bound firewall, for sandboxed programs. In edition, the start/run settings perform the duty of a Anti-executable. I thank the two on-demand scanners you use,are fine. With Malwarebyte...

Your welcome. I am almost certain that you will have to instal Kerio on your real system,as it requres a reboot. However, when you remove it through add/remove programs, there are very few "left overs". Just a file in C/Programs,a few in Prefetch, and a few registry entries that are easy to remove with...

Now I rely only on my NAT router, using Sandboxie to force all internet facing applications. When I did use a firewall my choice was Kerio 2.1.5. This is a super-light stable,2-way Firewall that works well on XP. Simply install it, open your programs, and "allow" or "block". You will not hear from Ker...

Blocked access folders
On my default box,Firefox browser only,start/run/access Internet restrictions applied, I block access to C/Documents, and a couple of desktop folders that are excluded from ShadowDefender protection. That is what is so hard about these questions. Everyone's system/security outlook is different. A co...

And just now a funkydude in Wilders has been accusing me of more craziness. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=277540 I'm still not convinced about the conspiracy theory though. :) Every time I release a version it raises more awareness to Sandboxie, maybe now the haters are starting t...

Re: Sandboxie & Shadow Defender
Hi, i was reading up on one of the posts about combining sandboxie and shadow defender. If it isn't too much trouble can someone explain how they have the two setup together and what folders they include/exclude etc. Also i am running windows 7 32bit in LUA, would SuRun and SRP still be needed? I h...

I have Sandboxie v3.44 - should I update my Firefox to v3.6.4 or should I wait to avoid problems? Thanx! Bellzemos: If you use start/run and/or access internet restrictions, you will need to add the new "plug in container exe" found in the FireFox 3.6.4,folder to the permitted list. Or, I guess you ...

I know how it is. I lost all of my bookmarks via a Firefox update,no third party software involved,a couple of years ago,and someone gave me a tip about profiles, etc, and I was able to recover them. Of course I don't remember it. Nevertheless,I still say wiser heads responding here may save the day!!...

Hi folks, long time user, first time poster. Currently I am using the latest Firefox version and while I can surf normally without Sandboxie, I cannot connect to the internet at all when I Sandboxie it. Anyone else having that problem? I read through this thread and so far the references here have ...

Same result. I don't think my end has anything to do with plugin-container.exe. First video: "This video is not available." Second video: "Content is not viewable in your area". EDIT: doubled checked it in a freshly installed VM XP and same result. I think my ISP is blocking it? Can't imagine why t...

Mike, the first YouTube vid just makes the buffering/loading symbol, endlessly never loads . The second espn clip, looks like it is going to load, and then says "vid unavailable",and flash's to a screen of similar clips. If one of these is clicked, same message. This is with plugin-container.exe. added...

noorismail I was able to play the link you posted without having to allow internet access and did not get any Sbxie message. Even so, I dont like this changes on Firefox. Bo Yes it seems hit or miss now that I have removed the internet access entry. In any event,"hide" seems to work. I also am not ...
