opera not unloaded from memory

Post by opera » Tue Jun 05, 2007 7:02 am

I am quite a new sandboxie user so sorry if this is an obvious problem.

Always sandboxie loses it's red dots when I close my opera page. Today I went offline but did not close the page, should sandboxie still have kept it's spots? (because it did)

I didn't notice the above at first as I had gone offline to unload memory by running an AVG antispy memory scan. This usually is very quick, a minute or two, and results in drastic drop in memory usage showing up in task manager.

After a minute into the scan I noticed the red dots and that the scan was hardly moving. Closed opera page, still red dots, stopped scan after 8 minutes as it was struggling. Still red dots. Had to empty sandbox to get opera out of taskmanager and memory usage to drop to level usually shown after an avg memory scan.

One, Sandboxie shows the dots as long as you have programs running in the sandbox. Sandboxie doesn't care if these programs are connected to the Internet or not.

Two, if you see that AVG antispy memory scan is confused by sandboxed programs, is it a reasonable workaround to use AVG antispy memory scan only after you stop all sandboxed programs?

Thanks for the reply.

I see now that I must close the page/program for sandboxie to leave it.

I will in future use avg antispy to unload memory when sandboxie is not running.

I like sandboxie, and now browse always in opera sandboxed. Thank you for using your time to make this program :)
