Install Not Showing in Sandbox

Install Not Showing in Sandbox
Tzuk
I have noticed several programs that I have tried do not remain in the sand box when installed (So to all intents and purposes they are not installed)
One example of this is Monex (Personal Finance Software)
http://monex.sourceforge.net/ENG/index.html
When you right click and Run As Sandboxed the program installs. If you click close at the end of the installation. The Sandbox is empty. If however you leave the intallation box open. Then the program remains in the Sandbox.
Question Is this how it should be? I don't seem to recollect this happening until recently.
I am using version 3.01 but it was doing it in a least 3 versions earlier

Well, ill be damned, (btw im still using .17 but am about to upgrade to 3.01 in a couple minutes) i sandboxed the installer, ran through the install and when it was done, i left the installer open and checked the sandbox, and the files were there, so far so good, but then when i hit close (on the installer) i went back to the sandbox, and the files were still there!
Terry, do you have autodelete turned on, cause the way autodelete works is once all the processes close in the sandbox, then the box is autodeleted, so its possible that autodelte might be on, and so when you still have the installer open, the files are still in the sandbox, but once you close the installer, then autodelete detects that no more processes are sandboxed so it proceeds to just clear the sandbox out, makes sense right?

Hi SndPhoenix
Yes I did have the AutoDelete turned on. And yes if you turn it off then the install of Monex et al is retained in the sandbox. And of course so is everything else until you manually delete.
The problem is that Autodelete has ALWAYS BEEN ON. So that for those paths named in the recovery box you are given the opportunity to recover before autodelete kicks in.
So with AutoDelete known to have been always on. Why has most but not all of previous sandboxed installs been retained in the sandbox.
I have a number of threads/posts with tzuk on the question of installs that did not work, Foxmail being one. Tzuk sorted it. It installed AND WAS retained in the Sandbox with AutoDelete on.
I do not understand this.
If you are correct, then I have gone backwards with everything having to be manually deleted
Perhaps its me.

After reading this thread, I'm wondering if your result with the Auto Delete operation has anything to do with the issue discussed in this thread:

Hi Paul_K
Thanks for your input.
I read, at some speed the thread you refer to. As far as I can see that seems to refer to Multiple Sandboxes and their interrelationship.
In my case I am only using one sandbox, and as far as I can tell something has changed. What it is I do not know.
One thing I am absolutely certain of that AutoDelete has been on for a long time. I keep backup copies of Sandboxie ini file Those that are not archived and easy to find show that from the beginning of July to current as having AutoDelete on.
All of this predates when I started having problems with the install not remaining. Not all installs went by the wayside.
I am trying to find some .exe's that did remain in the sandbox.
Very Strange

Hi Everyone
Try this for size
Following on from the themes explained in my previous posts where Sand boxie does not retain the install in the Sandbox (With Autodelete on) in some cases.
Money Manager Ex and jGnash are personal finance managers. No install, BUT if you RUN them Sandboxed they are both retained in the sandbox (Browser shut down prior to running) with autodelete on.
Grateful someone reassures me I am not losing it!

I'm guess I'm not real sure of what you want others to try...
If you meant, run the Money Manager Ex Installer sandboxed, so that the Program Files structure is created in the sandbox, I did that. Same results as SnDPhoenix: the program is installed in my sandbox - until the Installer program is closed. At that point Sandboxie deleted the sandbox folder and it was all gone.
If you mean install the program, unsandboxed, and then run the program's executable in a sandbox, I did not do that.
