It's not SBIE or Invincea.

It's how KIS interacts with windows and how it mimics what SBIE does, thus it directly conflicts with SBIE. Our Devs have looked at the issue, and it's not feasible at this time.

We will not modify SBIE so that a A/V program will work. There are many other options out there.

Maybe in further releases of KIS, they will be less obtrusive?

However, A/V programs are suggested to be used in "addition to" SBIE, not as a primary defense when online. It should be SBIE as primary, then a A/V you choose. We use Windows Defender (Live Essentials). It works just fine with what it needs to do & identify threats in your sandbox (which you can just delete).

One question regarding AV compatibility: Are you trying to stay in touch with AV companies for reaching a better functionality with their software?

I'm just thinking that AV companies could be also interested in some cooperative work with Sandboxie. If an AV company would be wilfull to make sure their software isn't conflicting with Sandboxie (with your help if needed), Sanboxie could give like "guaranteed working with sandboxie"-certificates for such AVs and all three parties (you, the AV company and your users) could benefit from it. It would be like an advertisement for AVs which are cooperating with Sandboxie and making sure their AV lets Sandboxie doing it's work without trouble.

Of course, it's just a thought from someone who is absolutely not into it and I hope you guys wont get it wrong.
I'm sure you're already trying the best possible, but I'm nevertheless wanted to share my hypothetical thoughts/wishes.

Keep up the good work!

This is very good idea of it, I hope Sandboxie can have a try. It is best way to overcome Kaspersky compatible with Sandboxie, currently now using Sandboxie for testing purpose but sadly unable use Kaspersky as first line checking virus. When startup Kaspersky, sandboxie totally down. Look forward of Kaspersky able cooperating with Sandboxie. Keep it up Sandboxie.

Actually, it's the other way around. SBIE isolates your system. Protecting you first.

KIS needs to overcome this. KIS is extremely intrusive and attempts to replicate what SBIE does. We will not compromise SBIE for it to work with KIS. There are many other options for A/V, if you choose to use A/V.

SBIE first line...then any A/V as feel good protection.

I recommend.... MSE /Defender (works great, what we use in testing..) Panda (Free) WebRoot....

"SBIE protecting you first" - that's interesting. I always thought AV is 'first'.
ESET Smart Security 8,9 (Windows 10 confirmed thus far.)
SBIE seems to work well with ESET SS 9 x64 on Win10 x64 TH2
Sandboxie 5.19.4 personal lifetime license user || Win10 x64 Pro CU (up to date) || ESET SS 10+ x64 || AppGuard 4+ || Firefox 54+ x64 || UAC on

I would totally agree with "Protecting you first" Any AV has to have a signature to detect, and it may or may not have it. With SBIE it doesn't matter, your system is protected.

I have run with out an AV and never had a problem, but would never browse without SBIE

Hello,

will Sandboxie 5.x work well with ESET Endpoint Antivirus (it's a business AV license)? On Windows 10 x64.

Thank you!

Test it.

1. Image your system so you can roll back

2. Install the latest SBIE and see what happens.

I haven't tested ESET, I've tested Symantec, McAfee Enterprise (business) editions and they have worked well.

Could you please test it with ESET Endpoint Antivirus (a business AV)? I have no time for this now and if it works I could probably persuade people who I work for to get some Sandboxie licenses (the whole company is using the ESET Endpoint Antivirus so it would have to be 100% compatible with Sandboxie). Thank you!

In the meantime, ESET NOD32 Antivirus 9 does work well with Sandboxie.

I've requested a trial from ESET, but nothing as of yet.
