Sandboxie and Windows 7 with Explorer

Post by JohnA » Thu May 12, 2016 4:30 pm

Anyone else having problems running a Sandboxed Windows Explorer under Windows 7 64 bit SP1 with the latest beta? I have seen this on such a system without any AV solution installed. I haven't had any problems with Windows 10, however.

Hi John, no issue here running Windows explorer sandboxed in W7 32 bits. You should create a new sandbox and test.

Sandboxed Windows Explorer under fully patched up to date Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1 using Sandboxie 5.11.7 seems okay to me. But I don't use it much.
What issue are you seeing?

I clicked on "Run Windows Explorer sandboxed", nothing happens for a few minutes and sandbox terminates with no error
I clicked on "Run Any Program sandboxed", type explorer, nothing visibly happens for a few minutes and sandbox just normally terminates. Looking at sandbox shows explorer starting up and then just terminating
I can right click "Command Prompt" and run that (cmd.exe) sandboxed with no problem. Typing explorer in the command prompt window just returns to shell with nothing being performed - same as the other two. Don't seem to have problems with any other command.

Of running unsandboxed does the right thing.

Nope, nothing of the sorts on 7/64 using 5.11.8...Did you try a new sandbox? NO security software installed?

Running explorer, no issue or delays from the notification bar SBIE icon.

Running "any program" such as FF, no issues either.
