Disk space doesn't free after deleting sandbox!

On my c: partition explorer has showed 13,2GB free space.
after that i run sandboxed an installation file and installed the program in sandbox in C:\Program files\<program name>. The program is ~100MB big. After the installation the program worked fine and explorer showed 13,0GB free space.
After deleting the sandbox the program was gone but explorer still showed 13,0GB free space.
My quesion is where are my 200MB?
I am running Windows XP pro.
This has happend a few times with different installation files and both 2.86 and 3.00 versions(i haven't used sanboxie before v2.86).
I also want to mention that the installation file was on a CD not on hard disk and when I search for files created or modified on that day noting important for this question is found.

I think when i clear(disable) system restore and re enable it again the space is back.
I think this beacause a few weeks ago when i disabled and reenabled i had 13,8GB free space and after doint the mentioned installation and deleting the sandbox i revert my sistem one day before, i disabled and reenabled sys.res. and i had 13,8GB free space again.

Try emptying your trashcan. on my system sometimes it counts the trashcan size twords disk usage, usually when it gets up over 2gb. it doesn't do this all the time though, so I'm pretty sure its not correct behavior. if anybody else has any ideas. . .

I would say that you found the answer, yourself, as to where that missing hard drive space went to. That is a lot of space for System Restore to lock up though. If the downloaded program was 100 MB in size, it could take-up a lot more hard disk space when it was actually installed.
WIN XP makes restore points on it's own when programs are installed. These Restore snapshots are kept in the hidden folder at "C:\System Volume Information\_Restore{.....}". You need to configure Windows to show hidden files and folders if you want to see that folder in Windows Explorer.

My folder shows 7 snapshot folders created in the last 5 days, and none of them were created by me (manually).
In total I have 6.4 GB of data taking-up storage in this folder. My settings allow for System Restore to take-up about 6.9 GB of space, so pretty soon the oldest Restore points will start getting deleted to make way for the new ones.

I assume the behavior you are referring to occurs only when a program is installed in a sandbox, and not when a large amount of data is simply saved in the sandbox, and then the sandbox's contents are deleted. Certainly if that resulted in missing hard drive space, it would be a concern.

I just readed the linked topic.
There is written that when you terminate all sandboxed processes your system is not changed, but when you delete the sandbox all files are moved to the system restore folder (c:\system volume information).
Am I right?

When i was writing this it just came me an idea.
The sandbox folder is in the folder c:\documents...\Application Data" which is a system folder. Windows XP monitors all system folder and when is something changed or deleted he makes backup of the old files in Sys. Res. folder. Please some try this, but this time when the sanbox is in a non-system folder (ex: c:\sanboxes\defautBox) and post. I'll also try and post.

I've tried and no luck.
looks like SR always make backup of the files(exe dll ocx ax etc)

You have 2 options to prevent the sandbox from ending up in the System Restore set.

1. Modify the registry key "HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\BackupRestore" to exclude the sandbox folder as outlined here:

2. Set up a separate partition to contain the sandbox folder and set System Restore off for this partition.
