Re: Firefox crashes after downloading files
Still the same issue here.
Windows 64 8.1
Firefox 43
Sbie 4.20 works fine - 5.07 downloads freeze randomly
No anti malware - no security products - no Fx extensions or plugins.
I can live with 4.20 just fine, and not install the problem Ms update. Just curious though that there are two Process Monitor
logfiles posted in this thread with no indication or reply. Have they been looked at? Is there anything else we can provide?

Re: Firefox crashes after downloading files
They're looked at. Usually, i's AV related or a incompatible program or something non SBIE related. If it's SBIE related, we will post that.
I highly recommend moving away from 4.20, I highly recommend the Stable given the Patches that affect Windows update (after Oct 2015) that rendered SBIE unusable if they were installed.
As for this particular FF issue, it's nothing we can recreate or have experienced.
I just tested 8.1/64 (with current OS Updates) running Beta 5.07.1 and haven't seen any issues with random downloads freezing.
Of course, you can always submit a procmon as well that we can review.

Just finished creating a new and updated 8.1 x64 VMware virtual machine with only Chrome 47.0.2526.106 m (64-bit) and Sandboxie beta 5.07.1 installed. Chrome hung on the very first download.Craig@Invincea wrote:I just tested 8.1/64 (with current OS Updates) running Beta 5.07.1 and haven't seen any issues with random downloads freezing.

Hmm, so random "Not responding" on downloads is not exclusive to Firefox + Norton.... who knewnick s wrote:Just finished creating a new and updated 8.1 x64 VMware virtual machine with only Chrome 47.0.2526.106 m (64-bit) and Sandboxie beta 5.07.1 installed. Re: Firefox crashes after downloading files
Can't say that's common or repeatable. If it was a system wide SBIE issue, we'd have hundreds of reports like we did with the Oct Windows Update.Just finished creating a new and updated 8.1 x64 VMware virtual machine with only Chrome 47.0.2526.106 m (64-bit) and Sandboxie beta 5.07.1 installed. Chrome hung on the very first download.
However, in the latest (and probably the Dev build) of Chrome, there were some random issues that could be related to this. It may be addresses as part of the code improvements in the new beta that's being tested now.
The new & upcoming SBIE beta is a major code rewrite.
Re: Firefox crashes after downloading files
After 5.07.2 dl precipitated FF Not Responding.
Changed Downloads to > Save files vs. Always ask.
Tested and of course nary a peep.
Anyone notice FF Not Responding with Save files to.
Thanks

Re: Firefox crashes after downloading files
Thats how I set Firefox. I have never experienced any kind of downloading issue while running Firefox sandboxed and using setting: Save files to. At least, I cant recall any issue like freezing or crashing while downloading something.bjm wrote: Anyone notice FF Not Responding with Save files to.

Re: Firefox crashes after downloading files
I solved my problem with Firefox crashing after downloading files.
After some experimentation with updating drivers I could not fix the problem. I finally fixed it by enabling windows DEP (Data Execution Prevention) for all programs and services. By default Windows only enables DEP for windows programs and sevices.
For me this fixes the problem for Firefox, Palemoon and Cyberfox.

@Bertus: Thank You! After the experimentation I have also been trying, I appeciate the work that you did. Seems to be fine here. Good Job!!!
Re: Firefox crashes after downloading files
adding... Firefox "Not Responding" continues upon download in FF sandbox. Firefox not sandbox'd, download okay / FF okay.
Bizarre is that trying to duplicate Firefox "Not Responding" sometimes defies attempts.
Only variable I'm aware of is FFx64. FF 32bit and Sandboxie and even Norton had been playing very well.
As I recall. My "Not Responding" upon download in Firefox sandbox started with FFx64.....
Just sharing. Thanks

@BJM
Thanks! I'll make note about FF 64bit flavor and keep an eye out.

Hmm. The only thing I can say is Norton. Haven't seen in FF or FFx64.
