sandboxie and battlEye service

Post by KrizzUchiha » Thu Jun 18, 2015 7:19 am

hey!

I'm having some trouble with sandboxie. I've been trying to load up arma 3 using sandboxie. When I click play I get this:

I tried starting the service manually in my services.msc like so:

but it still wouldn't load up the game even with the service started up manually. I'm new to sandboxie and don't really know how it all works. Is there anyone that can help me understand or know of a fix? I also find it odd that it tries to install it, when it is clearly already installed.

I did some googling and found this: http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?BlockDrivers
I tried adding BlockDrivers=n ,but that didn't help either.

Hm... I don't think you can install services inside of a sandbox.

As the service is already installed outside of sandboxie as shown in your image from services.msc the game should be able to communicate with it but you may need to use Resource Access Monitor to find and allow some things. Alternatively you could allow all communication to the service by adding an OpenIPCPath=$ to the service exe name. This should allow the game to communicate with the service and let you play multiplayer but I can't be sure as I don't have the game and can't test it myself. If you do allow the service communication, and it works, the anti-cheat thing will not be running under sandboxie, but will have all of the privileges and access to your computer (and things you are running on it) that it normally would so depending on what information is passed between the service and the game, the game may also be given access to this information effectively nullifying some of the protections sandboxie normally provides.
