[.09] Sandboxie 4.01.08 x64 Windows 8:

Post by vincent » Tue May 14, 2013 4:21 pm

When I launch Dishonored.exe without -windowed flag I get this because Dishonored is crashing (not Sandboxies fault):
SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process SandboxieDcomLaunch.exe [55 / 8]
SBIE2313 Konnte SandboxieDcomLaunch.exe (5) nicht ausführen
SBIE2204 Der Dienst 'DcomLaunch (5)' konnte nicht in der Sandbox gestartet werden

Just for info: SBIE2335 has not been documented at http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?SBIE_Messages

I'm getting the same SBIE2335 message in Windows 8 trying to open Firefox and Chrome. It happens frequently, but not every time.

It started on 14 May after the following

1. Update to Firefox 21

2. Updating Flash to 11.7.700.202

3. Installing 16 updates as part of Microsoft patch Tuesday. I'm guessing this is the most likely suspect.

I have no clue how to pin down the precise cause.[/u]

I am also getting this opening IE10 on Win 8 Pro 64bit. using Sbie 4.0.0.7 after doing all the Windows updates.

Sandboxed browser eventually opens.

Version 4.01.08 has some issues with the Drop Rights setting. Please check if this is enabled and if disabling Drop Rights fixes the problem.

I've disabled it and and restarted the PC just in case. The problem is still there.
Firefox and Chrome often open normally. It can take 10 attempts or more to replicate the problem.

Same here after doing 15 Windows updates. Mostly happens with Chrome but Firefox too sometimes.

Same situation here. Lots of these:

Code: Select all

SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process firefox.exe [55 / 8]
SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process SandboxieDcomLaunch.exe [55 / 8]
SBIE2313 Could not execute SandboxieDcomLaunch.exe (5)
SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service DcomLaunch (5)
SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process plugin-container.exe [55 / 8]
There doesn't seem to be a pattern as to when they will appear.

I have exactly the same problem. I can't launch Chrome as it mostly gives the same error messages reported in this thread.

Using Win 8 x64 with latest .08 beta.

It's not just browsers.

Code: Select all

SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process FlashPlayerPlugin_11_7_700_169.exe [55 / 8]
SBIE2337 Failed to start program: [55 / 1067]
SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service RpcSs (1067)
SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process SandboxieRpcSs.exe [55 / 8]
SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process mpc-hc64.exe [55 / 8]

Yeah, I'm getting it MPC-HC and uTorrent as well as Chrome and IE on Win 8 x64.

Started after last lot of Windows updates.

.08 worked OK, other than the continued issue with Office 2013, before the updates.

Cheers

[.08] Initialization for various processes fails

Post by Chr1s » Sat May 25, 2013 3:10 am

Hello,

I've got the same problems but it happened to me right after upgrading from 4.01.02 to .08. I'm using Win 8 x64 too.
It doesn't matter which program is started, the error occures with a chance of about 20% when starting a new program / process. The chosen sandbox (multiple sandbox configuration) doesn't matter.

Starting Thunderbird: SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process thunderbird.exe [55 / 8]
Starting Firefox: SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process firefox.exe [55 / 8]
While surfing with Firefox when a plugin loads: SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process plugin-container.exe [55 / 8]

Starting Acrobat: SSBIE2335 Initialization failed for process AcroRd32.exe [55 / 8]
Directly followed by SBIE2205 Dienst nicht implementiert: Manifest Length (524288)

Or sometimes this error: SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process SandboxieRpcSs.exe [55 / 8]
Directly followed by these two:
SBIE2337 Failed to start program: [55 / 1067]
SBIE2204 Der Dienst 'RpcSs (1067)' konnte nicht in der Sandbox gestartet werden

Thanks for the afford developing sandboxie. It's great & keep it up!

On .08, try unchecking Drop Rights at:
Sandbox Settings > Restrictions > Drop Rights
