How to disable automatic update?

Post by Unknown_User_911 » Fri Aug 10, 2007 12:42 pm

Sandboxie 3.00.12
Windows XP Pro SP-2

When I booted Windows today and then logged in, a popup window appeared for Sandboxie asking if I wanted to check for an update to Sandboxie. No, I don't. I closed that dialog. I then went hunting through the options for configuring Sandboxies and found nowhere how to disable this automatic update check.

So how do I disable the automatic update check in Sandboxie?

Ha, you just did. If you click no at that dialog, then auto update is disabled.

Ah, okay. So by saying no to the update dialog then I should never again an update dialog reappear. Sounds good. I had figured it would periodically check for updates until I configured it not to, but then I couldn't find an update option to disable. Okay, hopefully no more update dialogs. Thanks.

There's also the option to initiate a check for update (from the Help menu) and then check the box that says "don't check for new releases."

I tried that option (under the Help -> Check for New Version) but it doesn't stick. I enable the option, exit that dialog, and when I open it again the option is disabled. Since the option does not remain enabled, it appears that it won't work.

Oh, I see. Then I'll have to fix this.
