Hi, my tablet has been off-line for about a half year due to a modum problem. Sandboxie opened a window some time ago saying i need to reactivate my license. (I bought a subscription)
My question is: I'm ready to go back on-line with it and want to make sure i dont get a virus (because my AVG is out-dated). If i click the Activate License box will it take me there & sort that out directly? Then i would click my AVG Update Definitions, sort that and restart. Did i miss anything?
sorry if this seems thick but i just want to be certain i dont complicate matters by letting something in inadvertantly before my PC is shipshape . I've been using Sandboxie for years and want to get it going first off.
thanks much'

Sandboxie "licence should be re-activated now"
thanks for the replies...
i guess what i really want to know is my previously fine Sandboxie functioning now?
Or, do i need to do this activation thing to get a sandbox?
i dont care about more features or bigger & better right now...
I dont even want to go on-line if i can help it, w/o one.
thanks again,
jeff

You don't need to activate to be able to sandbox your browser or programs. If you are off line, you can right click on a file and choose to run it sandboxed.jefft wrote:Or, do i need to do this activation thing to get a sandbox?
When you get intenet, your default browser should open when you click the "Sandboxed Web browser" icon that Sandboxie places there when you install SBIE.
Since you haven't used that computer for a while, I recommend you get the installer to the latest version (3.76) from this site.

Use Sandboxie Control's menu:jefft wrote:My question is: I'm ready to go back on-line with it and want to make sure i dont get a virus (because my AVG is out-dated). Help > Register Sandboxie
It connects only to the activation site, and does not run your browser.
An Internet connection is required for that.
Even the offline activation requires that you use a computer to connect to the Internet, although not necessarily the one that needs the activation:
http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?ProductActivation
http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?OfflineActivation
I would then make sure that my firewall program is running, even if it's only the firewall that comes with Windows.
Update your A/V definition files by using that program's update feature.
Update Windows at Windows Update, or Microsoft Update (unsandboxed, of course).
Update to Sandboxie v3.76.
