What do you use along side sandboxie?
My setup is centered around sandboxie, What do you compliment sandboxie with in your setup?
Sandboxie and no other third party software here. Just enabled a few built-in Windows mechanisms with LUA + SRP + Windows firewall. Newly introduced files are viewed and opened sandboxed until they are scanned by eg. VirusTotal etc, and even after that, they are still at least opened sandboxed.

I also use SuRun - great application. It's more of a convenience tool for me, since I run as a Limited User on Windows XP. Aside from the convenience of performing (minor) administrator actions in my Limited User Account, I've also recently come across perhaps a more major reason for using SuRun with Sandboxie.Username wrote:1) free SuRun (UAC for Windows XP)
I've been trying out Google Chrome (currently using dev version 26) for the last few weeks (after resisting it for years...been on Firefox for the last 5-6 years), and I've installed the entire Chrome browser sandboxed. This is different to my Firefox installation, where I've installed it outside the sandbox (on the real system), but run it sandboxed. One of the main reasons I've refrained from installing Chrome is the fact that I would have more third party code written on my REAL system (more code, more chance of vulnerabilities, conflicts etc). However, installing the entire thing sandboxed has avoided that issue. Within my LUA, I used SuRun to install it sandboxed as an administrator. Once I quit the browser, I create a convenient shortcut on my desktop or quicklaunch to always open the chrome browser sandboxed. At this stage, I am back running the browser with limited rights (not that it really matters to be honest, as I'm running it all sandboxed anyway). However, to update the browser, I need to run it with administrator rights (within the sandbox). With SuRun, I am able to conveniently perform this by simply right clicking the shortcut and running it as admin.
Anyway, my big hope is that Firefox will eventually catch up with Chrome in terms of speed and responsiveness. Once that happens, I can simply wipe chrome completely out by deleting the sandbox. And if Firefox never gets there, Sandboxie and SuRun will allow me to enjoy the Chrome browser (or whatever browser is superior for that matter) with all the convenience in the world, without having to worry about extra third party code causing trouble.
