Forcing the "system" Internet Explorer to be sandb

Hi,

I understand that I can set up a configuration entry like so in the config file to force IE to run sandboxed:

ForceProcess=iexplore.exe

...but how do you force the "system" icon version of Internet Explorer to do the same. To clarify, I am running Windows 2000....what I mean by the "system" IE is that on the Desktop, with the IE icon that is displayed, when you right-click and choose 'Properties' there is no 'Target' that specifies the path to 'iexplore.exe' but rather just a generic "Internet Properties" tab that specifies no target....it still fires up Internet Explorer but I assume that some other process is wrapped around the "system" version.

I hope I've made sense...

As long as you have ForceProcess=iexplore.exe in your config file, Internet Explorer will run sandboxed. There is not difference in Internet Explorer programs under Windows -- just one per box.

The reason you don't see a target under Properties on the desktop icon is that it is not a shortcut. (Note that you don't see the small arrow on the icon that usually indicates a shortcut.) It is the actual Internet Explorer with a hard-coded direct link to the program, which is a basic feature of Windows. If you create a shortcut to that same program, you'll get the target field.

So, you were were right in the first place. Just use ForceProcess=iexplore.exe and you'll be surfing in the sandbox regardless of how Internet Explorer is opened.
