Microsoft Office Problem

So first of all this problem was already brought up but I forgot about it until I experienced it first hand.

This post has the nitty-gritty details.

Short term solution:

You have to go to the Norton management window, select the second tab ("Norton Anti Virus").

Expand the settings frame, scroll all the way down to Additional Options, and click the link therein, to the bring up a popup window.

In the popup, select the last of the Advanced Options, named Miscellaneous. The last checkbox there is "Turn on scanning for Microsoft Office documents" and you have to clear that box.

Long term solution:

Sandboxie will unfortunately have to disable this particular protection for Office documents, but only inside the sandbox, of course.

This shouldn't be a real issue because, if you were to open the same .DOC file with an un-sandboxed Word, the Norton protection would still kick in and check the document file for viruses.
