Windows 8.1 Home-64bit.. after May 09 M$ updates, each time I open a browser (firefox or I.E.) a box displays..

With Sandboxie 5.18 I get this messages with Outlook:

SBIE2205 Dienst nicht implementiert: CoUnmarshalInterface (W8)
SBIE2318 DLL Initialisierung fehlgeschlagen für 'combase.dll'

After updating Sandboxie to version 5.19.3 only the first message remains. And this message also appears in Firefox.

I'm having the same issue on Windows 8.1 64-bit using Sandboxie v5.19.3 64-bit after applying update - 2017-05 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB4019215)

I am updating my Windows 8.1 installations and will be testing this as soon as possible.

Can you all please confirm this is related to KB4019215 as tech48 posted?
Does the issue prevent you from using the browsers or can it be ignored?
Are any other applications affected?

Hi Barb,

The errors popup everytime I run or install a program in the sandbox and then errors will popup again randomly while using the program. This happens with Skype, Firefox, Notepad++, Windows Notepad etc..

This happened to me too after installing Tuesdays updates (Win 8.1; Sandboxie 15.19.3).

For the time being I've ignored (and hidden) the warnings without any issue in my Firefox sandbox.

We were able to reproduce the issue after installing KB4019215 .
For the time being, clicking the "Hide" button will make the message go away and allow you to continue using Sandboxie normally.

Devs have been made aware. Updates will be posted as soon as they become available.

Hello everyone and good morning.

I was about to post the same issue, but after reading '[PLEASE READ] before posting a problem report' and searching for 'CoUnmarshalInterface' I discovered I'm not alone

I'll pop my relevant info in here, but I've already followed Barb's advice and hit the hide button (actually had to re-close Firefox and open again twice, and hit the Hide button twice, to deactivate both error messages).

Here's what I had planned on posting, but as I say I already followed Barb's advice and issue is resolved. Thanks again for great software!

Win8.1 Pro x64, running Sandboxie version 5.18 (64-bit). I use the free version of Panda AV, and I use the Windows built in firewall together with Windows Firewall Control.

The error occurs when I open Firefox, version 53.0.2 64-bit, and it is the portable version. Please note I have a couple of (identical) versions which I open in seperate sandboxes, and the error message occurs for all. Also, one of my Firefox browsers is the same version 53.0.2, but the 32-bit variant, and I get the error message for that as well.

Hi!
After installing KB4019215 for Windows 8.1 today I got the Sandboxie warning panel showing up repeatedly when surfing in Chrome saying that a few things weren't working right. As I feel by far more protected by SB than Windows Updates I uninstalled that update. The other updates today did not cause that problem so I didn't remove them. The mentioned one was on top of the list of the security updates I got today so I started there, and luckily right away with only that one removed: Bingo!

(To make sure Microsoft doesn't automatically download/install updates I have that option disabled. So I only see there are updates available during rebooting,)

I didn't try with surfing in IE!! nor Epic but I rarely use those anyway.

Glad this was easily solved for me. I'd rather have no Windows updates at all -if it came down to it- than no Sandboxie.
